Cartier Commences a 4000-Meter Drill Program on the MacCormack Gold Discovery
CARTIER RESOURCES INC ECR
10/6/2009 9:02:17 AM
VAL-D'OR, QUEBEC, Oct 06, 2009 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX News Network) --
Cartier Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE: ECR) ("Cartier") announces that it will commence a diamond drill program in mid-October in the immediate vicinity of the MacCormack gold showing (7.27 g/t Au over 1.0 meter and 0.34 g/t Au over 67.0 meters). New data from recent geochemistry and geophysical surveys have highlighted important characteristics favorable for gold concentration.
An induced polarization survey was conducted over the western extension of the known gold zones on the MacCormack property. The survey covered 3.6 kilometers of the Porcupine-Destor Fault.
4,000 meters of diamond drilling will test the economic potential of the best geophysical targets. These targets are interpreted to be caused by concentrations of sulphides associated with gold mineralization.
Quality Assurance/Quality Control
The MacCormack exploration program is conducted under the supervision of Mr. Philippe Berthelot, P. Geo., qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. Cartier has implemented and adheres to a strict Quality Assurance/Quality Control program which includes mineralized standards and blanks for each batch of samples. Assay samples are taken from drill core sawed in half with one half sent to a commercial laboratory and the other half retained for future reference. Analyses are either performed by Techni-lab S.G.B. Abitibi inc. in Sainte-Germaine, Quebec, or by ALS-Chemex in Val-d'Or, Quebec, both accredited laboratories.
The TSX Venture Exchange does not accept responsibility for the adequacy or accuracy of this press release.

CARTIER STAKES SIGNIFICANT NEW COPPER DISCOVERY SOUTHEAST OF VAL-D'OR
Cartier Resources Inc. has released significant copper results from channel sampling on its newly acquired Dore property southeast of Val d'Or. The sampling returned 1.0 per cent Cu over 6.0 metres. The discovery is in the central portion of this property which was recently staked (inscription certificates by Quebec's ministere des Ressources naturelles et de la Faune are pending). This property consists of 725 map-staked cells for a total area of 42,060 hectares.
The discovery was borne within the framework of a vast till and rock sampling program conducted over a large area. The program covered a little known region situated around 100 kilometres to the east and to the southeast of Val d'Or. The geological environment of this sector is characterized by a layered intrusive complex which is bounded to the south by meta-sediments and to the north by meta-volcanics. Cartier has staked the entire favourable contact which is characterized by a prominent magnetic high setting that spans over 80 kilometres in length. The area also hosts extensive lake-sediment copper anomalies according to a recent survey published by Quebec's ministere des Ressources naturelles et de la Faune (PRO 2009-03).
The copper mineralization is associated with a sulphide-bearing horizon that marks the contact between the intrusive and the meta-sediments. To date, the mineralization is seen over a width of six metres and is open in all directions.
Elsewhere on the property, the exploration team has identified an extensive boulder field of mineralized float. Individual boulders consist of semi-massive to massive sulphides and have returned the following grades: 0.40 per cent Cu, 0.50 per cent Ni, 0.05 per cent Co, 0.30 per cent Cu, 0.60 per cent Ni, and 0.23 per cent Cu, 0.64 per cent Ni and 0.04 per cent Co. Further work will be aimed at finding the source in outcrop.
Cartier is currently trenching the discovery area in order to expand the exposure at the original discovery site. The ease of access permits work year-round for trenching and drilling.
Nov 19, 2009 10:22 ET Cartier Extends a Gold-Bearing Zone on the Dollier Property
VAL-D'OR, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Nov. 19, 2009) - Cartier Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ECR) ("Cartier") is pleased to announce new significant results from channel sampling on its Dollier property south of Chibougamau (http://media3.marketwire.com/docs/ECRAa1119.pdf). The best gold assays from this sampling program are: 7.94 g/t over 1 meter, 7.08 g/t over 1 meter, 3.62 g/t Au over 2 meters and 3.50 g/t over 1 meter.
The trenching program expanded the surface exposure of the gold zone where a sample had returned 9.17 g/t over 1.1 meter (refer to September 10, 2009 press release). Two trenches were excavated along the zone for a total area of 1,400 square meters. They followed the mineralization over a length of 75.0 meters (http://media3.marketwire.com/docs/ECRAb1119.pdf). The high grade gold values are associated with 6.0 meter wide zones of sulphide-bearing horizons spatially related with porphyritic felsic horizons in mafic volcanics
Cartier's Mag-EM helicopter-borne geophysical survey over the area was completed in September. A detailed interpretation was completed by Mr. Marc Boivin, a consulting geophysicist. The interpretation of the survey shows numerous target areas prospective for gold mineralization
Cartier drills 1.2 m of 0.51% Cu, 0.49% Zn, 7.46 g/t Ag
2010-02-22 10:23 ET - News Release
Mr. Philippe Cloutier reports
CARTIER ANNOUNCES MORE DRILL RESULTS FROM NEW VMS DISCOVERY
Cartier Resources Inc.'s drill hole XTA-10-01, at the Xstrata option project, returned values of 0.51 per cent copper, 0.49 per cent zinc and 7.46 grams per tonne silver over 1.2 metres including 1.29 per cent Cu, 0.67 per cent Zn, 17.2 g/t Ag and 0.2 g/t gold over 0.4 metre. This new intersection confirms the strike extension of the VMS discovery (refer to Stockwatch dated Dec. 2, 2009) over 400 metres to the west of the original discovery.
To date, Cartier has drilled four holes spaced over a one-kilometre strike, of which three of these holes intersected massive sulphides. The drill hole that did not intersect mineralization was cut by a diabase dike. Subsequent borehole EM surveying of this drill hole indicated an off-hole anomaly below and east of the hole. All four drill holes are relatively shallow and borehole-EM surveying indicates that the bulk of the conductor (volcanogenic massive sulphide mineralization) is further at depth.
Cartier Resources agreement for Lac Landron property
2010-03-10 20:06 ET - Property Agreement
The TSX Venture Exchange has accepted for filing the documentation relating to a property acquisition agreement dated March 3, 2010, whereby Cartier Resources Inc. may acquire a 100-per-cent interest in 36 claims known as the Lac Landron property, in the province of Quebec.
In order to obtain the 100-per-cent interest, the company is required to issue 100,000 common shares within the first year upon signing and make a cash payment of $5,000.
CU-NI POTENTIAL INDEPENDENTLY CONFIRMED ON CARTIER'S RIVIERE DORE PROPERTY
The Ministere des Ressources naturelles et de la Faune (MRNF) has confirmed the potential for copper-nickel on Cartier Resources Inc.'s Riviere Dore property through a new mineral potential assessment study carried out using lake bottom sediment geochemical data from MRNF regional surveys (MRNF, EP 2010-01). The assessment study identified that the Dore anomalies are above the 99th percentile of over 90,000 similar samples available for all the province of Quebec.
Processing by Consorem (a research institute) of these lake sediment samples showed that base metal (nickel, copper, lead and zinc) results require signal enhancement (Trepanier, 2009). The predictability of the proposed target groups was tested in each case by the weights-of-evidence method, which determines the effectiveness of the approach used.
"We had already staked the Riviere Dore property based on our own field exploration findings," commented Philippe Cloutier, president and chief executive officer of Cartier. "With the release of the results of this study, we staked an additional 20 claims to cover the eastern extension of this highly strategic environment. This staking brings our total claims to 791 for the Riviere Dore property covering a strike length of 85 kilometres for a total area of 459 square kilometres. Given the findings of the MRNF and those of our geological team, I believe we have the potential for many new discoveries in the area, making this an attractive target for exploration and strategic partnership."
The anomalies that were staked are within a well-defined trend that hosts other prominent features for copper-nickel mineralization potential:
* Geological contact of the ultramafic layered intrusive complex (Bouchette anorthosite) and meta-sediments to the south;
* Discovery of abundant copper-nickel-cobalt glacial float (boulders);
* Discovery in outcrop of copper (Lac Bruges showing -- refer to Nov. 18, 2009, news release in Stockwatch).
The ease of access and lay of the ground allows Cartier to work the property on a year-round basis. A fieldwork program is currently being planned.

Cartier Identifies New Exploration Targets on Dollier Gold Property
VAL-D'OR, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - March 23, 2010) - Cartier Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ECR) ("Cartier") is pleased to announce that numerous highly prospective targets have been identified following a heliborne Mag-EM survey on its Dollier property. Cartier's gold discovery made last fall, 9.17 g/t Au over 1.1 metres, is characterized by coincident magnetic and electromagnetic anomalies. Many of these anomalies have been identified along two parallel trends that occur on this property.
"I believe that many of these anomalies will outcrop, lending themselves to straightforward sampling and trenching techniques, and rapidly become drill targets," commented Philippe Cloutier, President and CEO of Cartier. "Moreover, the ease of access to this property and its proximity to skilled labour and infrastructure makes this a low cost/high reward exploration scenario for Cartier. We have a work plan in place and will commence activity on Dollier in the near term."
Numerous gold discoveries made last year and the detailed interpretation of the heliborne Mag-EM results led Cartier to increase the Dollier landholdings to 89 contiguous claims covering 50 square kilometers. The property is strategically located south of the past producing Lemoine Mine (758,070t @ 9.56% Zn, 4.20% Cu, 83.85 g/t Ag and 4.54 g/t Au; Pilote, P., 1998) and the Corner Bay deposit (334,000t @ 5.22% Cu; Corner Bay Deposit Audit of Mineral Resources Technical Report, 2006).
An EMosquito II magnetic and electromagnetic heliborne survey totalling 530 kilometers was completed last fall on the property with flight lines spaced every 100 meters. The survey identified 206 electromagnetic anomalies, of which 48 were prioritized for immediate follow-up ground prospecting and trenching. Moreover, the detailed interpretation of the magnetic results has defined new structures (lineaments) favorable for gold mineralization.
The lay of the ground of the Dollier property allows Cartier the opportunity to pursue on a year-round basis additional trenching and drilling. Cartier has multiple options to fund the exploration of this property through financing or partnership and will be providing updates to its shareholders regarding the advancement of this project.

Cartier Confirms Polymetalic VMS Potential at Depth on MacCormack
3/25/2010 8:34:01 AM - Market Wire
VAL-D'OR, QUEBEC, Mar 25, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX News Network) --
Cartier Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE: ECR) ("Cartier") is pleased to announce that its latest drill holes MC-10-08 and MC-10-09 confirm the potential at depth for polymetalic Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) mineralization on its MacCormack property. The holes intersected a horizon with 5 to 20% disseminated sulphides over 34 meters and a zone of chalcopyrite stringers over 38 meters thickening at a vertical depth of 500 meters. The MacCormack property hosts massive sulphide mineralization that is typical of Cu-Zn-Ag-Au deposits found in the Abitibi and in particular at the Kidd Creek Mine in Ontario. Borehole EM interpretation and assays are pending.
These new results, factored with the previous four holes drilled in the area, have highlighted a very prospective setting for a gold rich polymetalic VMS deposit. The key features include:
- A multiphase rhyolitic dome identified over two kilometers and up to 200
meters thick;
- Independently verified stratigraphy similar in age and composition to that
of the world class Kidd Creek deposit;
- A broad sericite, chlorite, garnet, magnetite and sulphide bearing
alteration zone within the stratigraphic footwall;
- High grade copper, zinc, silver and gold sulphide intersections;
- Frequent gold enriched footwall sulphide breccia and stringers;
- A highly permeable and sulphide mineralized section of footwall rhyolite;
and
- A network of chalcopyrite-sphalerite (Cu-Zn) stringers developing at
depth.
"Although we have drilled only a few holes into this new environment, all have shown encouraging results," commented Philippe Cloutier, President and CEO of Cartier. "Each drill program has better defined the system, increased the potential of a major discovery and provided the impetus to continue exploring. We are currently reviewing all our recent data and preparing the next phase of work."
The ease of access and lay of the ground allow Cartier to work this property on a year-round basis for trenching and drilling. Cartier has multiple options to fund the exploration of this property through financing or partnership and will be providing updates regarding the advancement of this project.

CARTIER LAUNCHES A MAJOR AIRBORNE SURVEY ON ITS COPPER DISCOVERY
Cartier Resources Inc. has launched the first high-resolution geophysical survey to cover its copper discovery (refer to Nov. 18, 2009, press release in Stockwatch) on its large Riviere Dore property. The property is situated in an underexplored area 100 kilometres southeast of Val d'Or. The survey will cover the entire 85-kilometre-long prospective trend, and provide orientation for follow-up ground work and better define the target areas.
The geological setting of this area is characterized by a layered intrusive complex, which is bounded to the south by meta-sediments and to the north by meta-volcanics. Cartier staked the entire favourable contact, which is characterized by a prominent magnetic high that spans over 85 kilometres in length. Prospecting and till sampling have confirmed the potential that regional lake-bottom anomalies had identified.
The survey was awarded to AeroQuest, which will employ its recently developed AeroTEM IV magnetic-electromagnetic heliborne system. Over 3,800 line kilometres spaced every 200 metres will be flown to cover the entire prospective trend. The technology is extensively and successfully employed to detect copper-nickel mineralization in the Raglan mine area and other productive areas around the world.
"The Riviere Dore property is considered a high priority," commented Philippe Cloutier, president and chief executive officer. "We hope this new geophysical survey will provide our team with focused targets for ground follow-up and drilling that could lead to a significant discovery."
A map of the Riviere Dore property location and an executive summary of the Riviere Dore project are available on the company's website.

Cartier identifies 42 conducive target zones on Riviere
2011-03-15 09:14 ET - News Release
Mr. Philippe Cloutier reports
CARTIER RESOURCES INC.: HIGH PRIORITY TARGETS IDENTIFIED ON RIVIERE DORE PROPERTY
Cartier Resources Inc. has outlined 42 conductive target zones on the Riviere Dore copper and nickel property, located southeast of the town of Val d'Or in the province of Quebec. These conclusions stem from a mandate awarded to Condor Consulting Inc. (refer to Jan. 27, 2011, news release in Stockwatch). Condor has confirmed prominent conductors in association with known surface mineralization. These results will be instrumental in developing the first drill program on the property. Copper One Inc. is currently earning an interest in the property and financing the exploration work (refer to Jan. 18, 2011, news release in Stockwatch).
Condor's preliminary prioritization and interpretation of the property's geophysical data led to the identification of the above-mentioned 42 distinct CTZs. The CTZs range from a few hundred metres to 7,000 metres in length and span the entire property area for a cumulative of 75.8 kilometres of conductive zones. Nine targets are rated as high priority due to their close association with the recent surface discoveries and geochemical (till and bedrock) anomalies. These priority targets provide a cumulative of 24.8 kilometres of conductors with varying magnetic settings. A detailed interpretative process of the individual anomalies within the nine priority CTZs has begun in order to provide detailed drill targets.
Cartier Resources starts 4,000-metre drilling on Dollier
2011-03-17 09:11 ET - News Release
Mr. Philippe Cloutier reports
CARTIER COMMENCES 4 000 METER DRILL PROGRAM ON DOLLIER PROPERTY MAIN GOLD ZONE
Cartier Resources Inc. is commencing a diamond drill program on its 100-per-cent-owned Dollier property south of town of Chibougamau in northwestern Quebec. Drilling will focus on the Main gold zone exposed by trenching (9.17 grams per tonne gold over 1.1 metres within a broader zone of 3.85 g/t Au over 3.2 m and 7.94 g/t Au over 1.0 m). The first phase includes 2,500 metres of drilling with the majority of the holes targeting directly beneath the known surface mineralization. The remainder of the program will test four additional zones that are parallel to the Main gold zone. A second phase of 1,500 metres of drilling will test the best results from the first phase drilling.
The Main gold zone was exposed at surface by trenching. Detail channel sampling has shown that the high-grade gold values are associated with a 6.0-metre-wide zone of sulphide-bearing horizon spatially related with porphyritic felsic horizons in mafic volcanics. A recent induced-polarization (IP) survey covered a one-kilometre section of the mineralized trend. The survey outlined 10 prominent anomalies parallel to the Main gold zone, itself traced by the IP method over the entire length of the survey. These anomalies will be tested in conjunction with drilling directly beneath the Main gold zone.
Quality assurance/quality control
The exploration program and the technical information presented in this news release have been reviewed and approved by Philippe Berthelot, PGeo, vice-president of exploration. Mr. Berthelot is a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. The Dollier exploration program is conducted under the supervision of Mr. Berthelot. Cartier has implemented and adheres to a strict quality assurance/quality control program which includes mineralized standards and blanks for each batch of samples. Assay samples are taken from drill core sawed in half with one-half sent to a commercial laboratory and the other half retained for future reference. Analyses are either performed by Techni-lab SGB Abitibi Inc. in Sainte-Germaine, Que., or by ALS-Chemex in Val d'Or, Que., both accredited laboratories.
CARTIER CONFIRMS CONTINUITY OF GOLD ZONES ON DOLLIER
Cartier Resources Inc. has provided the first drill results on its Dollier project located south of Chibougamau in Quebec. The results confirm continuity along strike and at depth of the mineralization discovered in 2010. The zone extends over 350 metres over widths ranging from three to 11 metres. A second gold-bearing zone was discovered one hundred metres to the north (north zone).
Drill hole D0-11-08 returned 11.17 grams per tonne gold over 0.4 metre within a wider zone of 2.96 g/t Au over 2.45 metres. A second parallel zone was discovered 100 metres to the north in hole DO-11-06 and returned 11.16 g/t Au over 0.3 metre within a broader interval of 2.05 g/t Au over 2.25 metres.
A table presents results from the zone cuts in the first 16 holes. These results are partial and cover only 350 metres of the gold-bearing structure outlined at surface for over two kilometres.
Results from five additional drill holes that cut the gold-bearing structure and all results from additional sampling along the holes on new structures are pending.
"These first drill results are encouraging as they demonstrate the continuity of the gold-bearing structure and show local enrichment," commented Philippe Cloutier, president and chief executive officer of Cartier. "As well, the discovery of a second gold-bearing shear 100 metres to the north indicates that the area holds additional potential that remains largely untested."
The mineralized zones consist of highly sheared and altered rocks. Mineralization is composed of semi-massive to massive bands of pyrite associated with highly silicified and carbonate-altered sections. The area of interest on the property has road access that enables Cartier to work the property all year. To date, the first 1,500-metre phase of drilling has been completed and the remainder of the program will follow upon reception of all results.

Cartier samples 618.5 g/t Ag over 0.5 m at Xstrata
2011-05-05 09:13 ET - News Release
Mr. Philippe Cloutier reports
CARTIER CUTS 618.5 G/T (18.0 OZ/T) SILVER IN DRILLING
Cartier Resources Inc. has discovered by drilling a high-grade silver vein on the Xstrata option property and proximal to the Porcupine-Destor gold corridor. Sampling returned up to 618.5 grams per tonne Ag (18.0 ounces per ton) and 0.31 per cent Cu over 0.5 metre. A section over 1.0 metre adjacent to the vein could not be recuperated during drilling. The true thickness of the zone is to be confirmed by future drilling undertaken by Cartier shortly. The high grades were cut at a vertical depth of 12 metres which explains low core recovery.
A geophysical anomaly coincides with the discovery. The silver-rich vein is located 300 metres north of the 2010 VMS drill hole intersection which returned up to 0.51 per cent Cu, 7.46 g/t Ag, 0.49 per cent Zn over 1.2 metres, including 1.29 per cent Cu, 17.20 g/t Ag, 0.67 per cent Zn over 0.4 metre (DDH XTA-10-01).
This new discovery was cut in the first hole of a 4,000-metre drilling program conducted on the Xstrata option property. Cartier plans to test promising new geophysical targets in the southern portion of the property.
According to Philippe Cloutier, president and chief executive officer of Cartier, "This recent discovery, combined with drilling results from last year clearly demonstrates the discovery potential of precious and base metals mineralization in this area of the Porcupine-Destor fault."
Quality assurance/quality control
The exploration program and the technical information presented in this press release have been reviewed and approved by Philippe Berthelot, PGeo, vice-president exploration. Mr. Berthelot is a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. Cartier has implemented and adheres to a strict quality assurance/quality control program which includes mineralized standards and blanks for each batch of samples. Assay samples are taken from drill core sawed in half with one-half sent to a commercial laboratory and the other half retained for future reference. Analyses are either performed by Techni-lab S.G.B. Abitibi Inc. in Sainte-Germaine, Que., or by ALS-Chemex in Val d'Or, Que., both accredited laboratories.
CARTIER SELECTS 35 PRIORITY TARGETS FOR FIRST DRILL PROGRAM ON ITS COPPER-NICKEL RIVIERE DORE PROJECT
Cartier Resources Inc. has completed the first target prioritization for drilling on its Riviere Dore copper-nickel project located southeast of Val d'Or, Que. Copper One Inc. is currently earning an interest in the project by financing all exploration work. Thirty-five primary targets have been selected through property-wide modelled AeroTEM IV geophysical data. Targets were selected and prioritized on the basis of favourable field geology and geochemistry gathered by Cartier staff.
For this first drill program, 35 priority targets were selected to cover the most prospective areas throughout the 60,500-hectare project which cover a 80-kilometre-long prospective layered mafic intrusive complex. The known copper-nickel showings on the project will all be drilled. All targets were selected based on the occurrence of EM conductors, magnetics, known mineralization, till anomalies, favourable geology, and rock sample anomalies that indicate potential for the local presence of copper-nickel sulphide mineralization.
