International Tower Hill receives upgraded price target from Macquarie
Mon 11:30 am by Deborah Sterescu
International Tower Hill Mines (TSE:ITH) (NYSE-A:THM) received bullish outlooks from analysts at the end of last week, on the back of an updated preliminary economic assessment (PEA) for its Livengood gold project near Fairbanks, Alaska - released last Tuesday.

The latest economic report for the project estimated a base case net present value of a whopping $1.2 billion, alongside a significantly expanded surface mine resource, increasing the mining company's potential to become a solid gold producer in North America.

Indeed, Macquarie Equities Research maintained its sector "outperform" rating for International Tower Hill and upgraded its price target to $13.5, up from the company's last $7.74 trading price on TSX Venture Exchange.
Meanwhile, research peer Dahlman Rose & Co. issued a report noting the positive development of the PEA and said it is currently in the process of updating its figures to incorporate the new guidance.

The latest study evaluated a large, mill-only scenario operating at 91,000 tonnes per day, eliminating the heap leach option and requiring initial capital of US$1.6 billion, including contingency costs.

The elimination of the heap leach option is seen as "de-risking" the project for Macquarie, as there were potential recovery issues for such large operations in climates similar to Alaska, the firm noted.

Average gold production from Livengood was forecast at 664,000 ounces per year, at a cash operating cost of US$557 per ounce in the first five years of production.

Over the 23-year life of the operation, gold production per year was estimated at 562,000 ounces, making it potentially one of the largest single gold mines in North America. This compares with the last PEA in August 2010, which estimated average annual production of 504,000 recovered ounces of gold over 21 years.

Cash flows from the updated mine model, on a pre-tax basis, were calculated at $3.1 billion, lending to a net present value of $1.2 billion, at a 5% discount rate, and a 14.1% internal rate of return, with a payback period of 4.9 years. The base case scenario, which also yielded a life-of-mine cash cost of $703 per ounce of gold, assumed a gold price of $1,100 per ounce.

Using the recent sky-high prices of gold at $1,700 per ounce, cash flows jump to more than $10.6 billion, while net present value, at the same 5% discount rate, climbs to $5.1 billion.

Aside from the robust economics, Macquarie noted that International Tower Hill also expanded its resource to over 20 million ounces of gold, converting 18% of the previous indicated resource to the measured category, with only a minor impact on grades and overall tonnage, said the research firm. At a 0.3 grams per tonne (g/t) cut-off, measured, indicated and inferred resources total 20.2 million ounces.

The latest estimate is limited by existing drilling, the company said, indicating longer-term expansion potential as ongoing drilling extends the grid.

"The PEA has provided improved visibility into the economic assumptions related to the milling only scenario and the development path ITH is clearly focused on," explained Macquarie.

"Costs and capital expenditures were generally in line with our assumptions, which is a critical factor considering the low grade nature of the deposit."

Ongoing metallurgical studies will be focused on optimizing various unit operations, which is expected to have a further positive impact on project economics.

The production profile for the economic report estimated surface mine gold production of 15.8 million contained ounces, and an average annual recovery rate of 81.6%.

Currently, International Tower Hill is carrying out a 28,000 metre resource program, focused on infill and step out drilling of the deposit to test expansion potential, both laterally and at depth.

The pre-feasibility study (PFS) for the Livengood property is expected by mid-November this year, a further catalyst for the company's share price. The PFS will be the first step toward the permitting process for the property, which is expected to be submitted after sufficient data is collected.

Crocodile Gold Completes Major Airborne Geophysical Survey and Identifies Numerous New Exploration Targets
http://www.marketwire.com/press-rel...-numerous-new-exploration-tsx-crk-1555592.htm
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 31, 2011) - Crocodile Gold Corp. (TSX:CRK)(OTCQX:CROCF)(FRANKFURT:XGC) ("Crocodile Gold" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that a major airborne geophysical survey consisting of more than 4,000 line kilometres over priority prospective areas has been completed on schedule. The airborne survey used Geotech's VTEM helicopter-borne system to scan Crocodile Gold's extensive tenements in the Northern Territory of Australia. Southern Geoscience of Perth Australia was retained to ensure quality control, commutation, and detailed interpretation of the results.

Mark Edwards, General Manager of Geology and Exploration, commented: "The VTEM survey that we have completed is a state of the art geophysics system what provides deep penetrating information on the ground surveyed. It is used worldwide as a fundamental exploration tool to define geophysical signatures of mineral deposits and their hosts. Crocodile Gold selected the VTEM system to identify anomalies that will indicate the potential to discover further gold and base metal deposits within our land package (Figure 1). For example, it is known that the Cosmo deposit will produce a relatively strong electromagnetic (EM) signature with a coincident magnetic anomaly. The recently completed survey has clearly defined the hosting geological environment and numerous newly identified Cosmo "look-a-like" targets that will need investigation by our exploration team".

Pima County plans to approve key permit for Rosemont mine Story

Tony Davis Arizona Daily Star | Posted: Tuesday, August 23, 2011 12:00 am

Pima County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry strongly opposes the Rosemont Mine, but his
environmental quality chief plans to issue an air-quality permit for the project.

Ursula Kramer, the Pima County Department of Environmental Quality's director, said late Monday
that her office will issue and start taking public comment on a proposed permit for the mine on Aug.
30.

A final decision on the permit apparently is a ways off - May 2012, Kramer said - although
Rosemont Copper officials have threatened to sue if a decision isn't made by the end of August.

This is one of the key permits the mine needs to start operating. The timing of the county's action
has been a bone of contention with Rosemont officials for the past year.

Given the information submitted to her office and the nature of laws and rules governing air quality
permits, Kramer said she believes she has no choice legally but to propose issuing the permit.

That stance could change after she sees the public comments on the proposed permit and after
she gets input from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, she said.

She already has written to the EPA to see if she has any wiggle room on both the timing and
substance of her permit decision. The EPA has no decision-making role on the county's air-quality
permit, however.

Rosemont Copper hopes to start constructing the open-pit mine in the Santa Rita Mountains
southeast of Tucson by 2012..

Proposed copper mine near Tucson remains in limbo

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — A proposed southern Arizona mine that would dig up 234 million pounds of
copper annually remains in limbo awaiting permit applications and federal approval.

The U.S. Forest Service says it can't legally say "no" to the proposed Rosemont Copper Co. mine

However, Rosemont Copper has yet to file a formal permit application with the U.S. Army Corps

Nevsun Drills 30m of 8.55% Copper Adjacent to Bisha Mine
http://www.marketwire.com/press-rel...er-adjacent-to-bisha-mine-tsx-nsu-1555632.htm
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Aug. 31, 2011) - Nevsun Resources Ltd. (TSX:NSU)(NYSE Amex:NSU) is pleased to report the assays from the forty-three diamond drill holes at the hanging wall copper zone within its Bisha mining license in Eritrea. The hanging wall copper zone is immediately west of the Bisha Main deposit and partially within the current open pit limit but it is not included in the current resource or reserve estimate for Bisha.

Highlights

•Discovery of additional supergene mineralization
•Confirmation of near surface copper mineralization that is likely additional feed for the Bisha mill
Select Results Include:

•Hole B-395 – 30.0m at 8.55% Cu, from 34.5 meters to 64.5 meters
•Hole B-413 – 82.5m at 0.81% Cu, from 39.0 meters to 121.5 meters
•Hole B-398 – 45.5m at 0.95% Cu, from 52.5 meters to 98.0 meters
•Hole B-411 – 39.25m at 1.00% Cu, from 66.25 meters to 101.5 meters
•Hole B-410 – 28.5m at 1.06% Cu, from 40.5 meters to 69.0 meters
A two phase drill program was designed to define the extent and continuity of the previously identified copper mineralization located within the hanging wall of the Bisha deposit. Phase 1 of the program was completed in March 2011. The results were positive, and have provided valuable information on the extent and nature of the mineralization. Phase 2, focused on infilling the mineralization in order to calculate resources, will start in mid-September. Nevsun views the hanging wall mineralization as a potential source of supplemental feed for the processing plant at Bisha.

Spanish Mountain Announces Commencement of Pre-Feasibility Study

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Aug. 31, 2011) - Spanish Mountain Gold Ltd. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:SPA) is pleased to announce the commencement of a Pre-Feasibility Study ("PFS") for the Spanish Mountain Gold Project (the "Project"). The PFS will refine the estimates of capital and operating costs that were the basis for the Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) completed by the Company in December 2010. The Company currently has ongoing resource definition, geotechnical, metallurgical and power supply studies underway, the results of which will form part of the PFS. The PFS will also examine the optimal mill throughput at the beginning of potential commercial production from the Project. The Company is now considering a smaller milling capacity of 25,000 tonnes per day to reduce capital expenditures and to exploit higher-grade, near surface resources for the first 3 years of production with an expansion to 40,000 tonnes per day for the remaining mine life. The PEA was based on a 40,000 tonnes per day capacity for the entire mine life.

The Company has retained Wardrop, A Tetra Tech Company ("Tetra Tech"), as Project Manager, to develop a National Instrument 43-101 compliant PFS. Tetra Tech will work with the following consultants for the PFS:

Knight Piésold Consulting - Tailings design, waste water management, infrastructure geotechnical studies and environmental baseline studies
BGC Engineering Inc. - Geotechnical data review for the design of the open pit
Moose Mountain Technical Services - Open pit optimization
Giroux Consultants Ltd. - Resource estimates
SRK Consulting - Acid Rock Drainage studies
Stantec - Power Supply

Subsequent to the PEA, the Company has completed in excess of 18,000 metres of infill drilling in both the Main and North Zones. The results from this drilling will be incorporated in an updated resource model.

Extensive metallurgical testwork has already been completed by GT Metallurgical and SGS Lakefield and a flowsheet for the recovery of gold from the deposit has been developed for the PFS.

The PFS is expected to be completed over a period of approximately six months. The Company may elect to initiate a feasibility study ("FS") during this six month period without prior completion of the PFS. The FS is expected to take approximately one year from the date on which the FS begins.

The Company recently announced that the Project has now entered the 'Pre-Application' phase of the Environmental Assessment and Permitting process with acceptance by both the British Columbia Environmental Assessment Office and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency of the Project Description for the Project. The Company signed a Protocol Agreement with the Williams Lake Indian Band in March, 2011 and continues to work collaboratively with other First Nations and communities.

About Avion

Avion is a Canadian-based gold mining company focused in West Africa that holds 80% of the Tabakoto and Ségala gold projects in Mali. Gold production commenced at these projects in 2009 with approximately 51,290 ounces produced. Production in 2010 was 87,630 ounces of gold. Production sustainability will continue to be supported and enhanced by an aggressive 2011 drill program over an approximately 600 km2 exploration package that both surrounds and is near to the Company's existing mine infrastructure. The current mineral resources estimate for the Tabakoto project demonstrates several sources of excellent grade open pit and good grade underground mineral resources thus providing significant flexibility for Avion's future mining plans.

On July 5, 2011 Avion announced its initial proven or probable mineral reserve estimate of 7.24 million tonnes grading 3.92 g/t Au totaling 913,100 ounces of gold at the Tabakoto Project. Additionally, the 1,670 km2 Houndé exploration property in Burkina Faso continues to return promising results. These properties are subject to a preliminary US$ 13 million, approximate 75,000 metre, drill-focused, exploration program in 2011. Avion continues to progress towards its medium term goal of 200,000 ounces of gold per year and a longer term goal of organic growth through development of its exploration properties. The Company is developing an underground mine at the Tabakoto deposit, and is preparing to mine underground at the Ségala deposit. Avion has a highly skilled management team, with a focus on growth and consolidation within West Africa.

John Begeman, Chief Executive Officer of the Company, and a qualified person under National Instrument 43-101, has reviewed and approved the scientific and technical information in this press release.

Known mineral occurrences include at least five Cu-Mo-Au porphyries, three associated gold epithermal high sulfidation systems and one higher grade structurally controlled epithermal vein system. None of the mineral systems at Famatina currently have NI 43-101 compliant resources.

Mr. Sean Roosen, President and Chief Executive Officer of Osisko stated: "In Famatina, Osisko has identified an ideal project with which to enter one of the best mining jurisdictions in South America. We are very excited at the addition of another high quality project to our current portfolio of properties. We believe Famatina hosts very promising targets with excellent potential for future development. We have assembled a highly experienced team to oversee the work and we look forward to an intensive exploration program on the property over the coming year."

Batista to launch 3 IPOs next year - Brazil, Colombia

Brazilian billionaire Eike Batista, controller of the EBX group, is planning to launch three IPOs next
year, according to local press reports.

On the sidelines of a conference in São Paulo state, Batista told reporters that he will spin-off his
Colombian coal operations, known as CCX, next year in a sale that could raise US$4bn-5bn.

CCX will be spun off from energy company MPX and list shares in Bogotá and São Paulo.

MPX has mineral rights of 38,000ha in a thermal coal region in Colombia, where potential resources
are estimated at 1.74Bt. The company last year also acquired an area on Colombia's Atlantic coast
to build a coal port.

The other two IPOs are planned for the real estate business, to be known as REX, and AUX for gold
mining
.

The EBX group includes iron ore miner MMX (Bovespa: MMXM3), oil and gas firm OGX, infrastructure
and logistics company LLX (Bovespa: LLXL3) and port operator PortX, among others..

Institute Global Conference, a panel moderated by The Wall Street Journal's Paul Gigot, predicted
that the price of Gold will hit $2,500 an ounce without adding a specific time-frame. Don't leave
your assets unprotected during these times of economic and geopolitical uncertainty, invest in
physical Gold and Silver bullion and protect your wealth in 2011

Palladiumpreis hinkt Gold stark hinterher

MARKET EQUITIES RESEARCH GROUP
Metanor Resources Inc. – Canada’s Newest Gold Producer August 26, 2011

TSX Venture – MTO: C$0.30 – 12 Month Target: C$1.35, US Listing - MEAOF.PK, Frankfurt - M3R

http://www.sectornewswire.com/Report0911MTO.pdf - als Link um alles besser lesn zu können :)

Metanor is on schedule at its newly refurbished 1200TPD Bachelor Lake Mine & Mill, in Quebec. MTO is expected to prepare a bulk sample in Q4 2011, leading to a ramp-up in production that will see a run rate of 5,000 ounces gold per month (60,000 oz per annum) by Q3 2012 at an estimated cash cost of US$464/oz gold using 2/3 capacity of the 1200 TPD mill.
MTO is leveraged to the price of gold, able to sell 80% of its Bachelor Lake Mine sourced gold at spot prices with the balance sold to Sandstorm as per gold participation agreement.
With gold forecasted by respected analysts to remain near or above US$2,000/oz as MTO begins selling in 2012, MTO is positioned to generate enormous free cash, dwarfing the original Stantec projections used for validation (based on an initial three year mine life).

MTO has identified zones (see page 4) that we believe will contribute to extending mine life closer to 10 years. This interpretation was corroborated following a site visit to Bachelor Lake by an analyst from Industrial Alliance earlier this year, prompting commentary back-of-the-envelope calculations of (non 43-101) 700,000oz resource achievable based on deep hole intercepts and extrapolation of data. MTO has tremendous leverage to adding more mineable ounces, a plan to augment these resources, and high exploration potential at its properties.

Metanor's infrastructure is valued between CDN$150M - $200M, is fully paid, fully permitted, fully functional with proven production capabilities (having poured >40K oz gold from interim sourced ore). The intrinsic value of Metanor’s known resources (~1.6M oz gold in all categories on all its properties) and infrastructure are several times the company’s current market capitalization; we believe MTO is a high value buyout candidate as it enters gold production and should gravitate upwards towards a per share valuation of C$1.35.

Undervalued – Entering Production with Strong Organic Growth

In 2006 Metanor acquired 100% of Bachelor Lake and became operator with a plan to leverage the mill / infrastructure to restart mining, initially using mill feed from the Barry deposit (believed at the time to be a 100,000 oz deposit). Barry has since transitioned to a larger deposit of significance with lower grades that dictate a concentrator be built to capitalize on the economies of scale. MTO has spent the last year focused on the rehabilitation of the underground mine at Bachelor Lake and is now essentially finished development of substations and shaft work.
Bachelor Lake is a very rich underground mine with grades upwards of 26 g/t gold with an average grade of 7.38 g/t gold (fully diluted using long hole). With bulk sampling expected in Q4 2011, leading to a run rate of 5,000 ounces gold per month (60,000 oz per annum) at 2/3 capacity by Q3 2012, MTO is positioned for exceptional cash flow and in the first year will benefit from a ~$30M tax loss carry forward resulting in little or no taxes. Metanor also aims to increase efficiencies, looking to surpass its 95% recovery rate, and consider the myriad of options for taking the mill to full capacity.

With a current market cap of ~$60M, valuation-wise it appears Metanor is grossly undervalued, essentially trading at a discount to an adjusted pretax NPV(5%) of $103 million surrounding the Bachelor Lake initial three year mine plan alone (adjusting the PreFeasibility by accounting for recent financings, incorporating the Sandstorm Au participation, & using spot Au price).
As MTO enters gold production the reality of the infrastructure and resource value, cash flow growth, and clear ability to add ounces should lead to share price appreciation.

Bachelor Lake (1M+ oz gold target): There is clear potential to increase ounces in several ways
 upgrade inferred resources (~89,000 oz),
 define the now known extension to surface at Hewfran West (600 m to surface – estimated ~50,000 oz),
 define resources at Hewfran E. (historically part of a separate corporate entity and not as developed)
 drill at depth – part of the planned 15,000 m deep drilling program – very important as mining camps in the Val D'Or area often have depths several times their length – there are now 2 zones at depth here (vs. 1 historically mined) and they also appear to be widening at depth,
 east, in the O'brien pluton (below the original discovery).
