Cardero Receives Draft Preliminary Economic Assessment For Carbon Creek Metallurgical Coal Deposit, NE BC <CDU.TO>

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Dec 12 (MARKET WIRE) --
Cardero Resource Corp. ("Cardero" or the "Company") - (TSX:CDU)(NYSE
Amex:CDY)(FRANKFURT:CR5) announces it has received results of the Carbon
Creek Metallurgical Coal deposit ("Carbon Creek") Preliminary Economic
Assessment ("PEA") from Norwest Corporation ("Norwest").

Cardero, through Cardero Coal Ltd., currently has 75% interest in the
Carbon Creek Metallurgical Coal deposit, situated in northeast BC,
Canada. Results of the preliminary economic assessment indicate that on a
75% basis and using a base case coal sale price of $185/t, the project
returns a post-tax $752 million Net Present Value ("NPV") at an 8%
discount rate and a 29.3% Internal Rate of Return ("IRR").

These results, together with higher and lower coal sale price
assumptions, are outlined in Table 1, which also summarizes sensitivity
of the project to operating and capital cost increases. Due to the scale
of the project, it is economically robust and not especially sensitive to cost increases.

Aktuelle Einschätzung zu Avion Gold Corp.

Avion Gold Corp. Avion Gold Corp.

Fleckenstein - His Concerns About MF Global, Gold & More

With mounting concerns about the MF Global collapse, gold trading down roughly $50 and silver falling more than $1, today King World News interviewed Bill Fleckenstein, President of Fleckenstein Capital, to get his take on the situation. Fleckenstein had some fascinating things to say about the MF Global disaster, but first he discussed the action in gold, “Gold is volatile like anything is volatile. People tend to forget that when you have an $1,800 price, a one percent swing is $18. Today gold is down 3%, but it is part of what we see all the time. This happens often. I don’t exactly know why it’s down $50 today, but it is what it is.”

December 12, 2011

Bill Fleckenstein continues:

“I don’t know that anyone thinks corrections are that much fun, they are only healthy in hindsight. It just happens. This has happened over and over and over again. It’s just part of the process. It seems to me that sentiment is rather poor. There has been tremendous liquidation in the futures market, both for gold and silver.

Obviously more liquidation could take place. What has been interesting, though, is the fact that at least in gold the number of ounces held by the ETF continues to be near a peak, while the futures market keeps seeing the longs shrink. So it would appear people who are buying the ETF, which is more of a physical mindset, continue to buy and hot money types continue to sell.

So next time gold goes on a huge run you can be sure that some of the same firms that are selling it down here will probably be buying it up there, that’s the way it goes.”

When asked about the MF Global situation, Fleckenstein responded, “I think on the commodities side of things there is a real credibility problem. In this case, the self regulation didn’t do anything and the CME didn’t do much better....

“Corzine appears to have been able to have lobbied the regulators to get away with what appears to be some sort of an in house repo. That looks like it might have been what happened to customer funds. I should say we don’t really know what they did exactly and we don’t know how much has been lost.

But I think they have certainly undermined confidence as it pertains to people feeling like brokerage firms are creditworthy. Now there is all of this angst over hypothecation, rehypothecation. I don’t know that it will change the credibility of the stock market, that’s been a slow leaking boat for some time, but I think they are going to have to pass some laws about what these financial entities can do.

Congress is completely incompetent. What needs to happen is financial institutions, whether they are banks or brokerage firms or whatever, they need to make the directors and officers personally responsible for losses. Directors in Switzerland face that, they now face it in Brazil and it used to be that way in our country.

If these financial institutions, if the directors and officers faced personal losses, do you think anyone would have been leveraged up 40 to 1 in the last go around? You think any of this crap could happen? There’s not a chance. Congress is so stupid, they pass Sarbanes-Oxley, did that prevent anything in the last real estate bubble, any of these financial entities from blowing up? No.

Now they’ve passed this Dodd-Frank Bill. It’s just garbage. There are so many intelligent solutions to a lot of our problems and yet all they do is make the situation worse. It’s pathetic.

I’ve been rather vocal, as have others, about how useless financial statements are for financial entities for over a decade and nothing ever changes.”

Stephen Leeb - Gold Bull & Germany Flirting with Depression

With gold trading lower by almost 3% and silver off more than $1, today King World News interviewed acclaimed money manager Stephen Leeb, Chairman & Chief Investment Officer of Leeb Capital Management. When asked about the action in gold, Leeb responded, “It doesn’t make a lot of sense to see the world coming apart and gold going down. We are seeing liquidation by some hedge funds and maybe even banks to some extent that need liquidity. You have to go back to 2008 and I think the drop in 2008 was probably in the neighborhood of 30% and then gold just started taking off again.”

Stephen Leeb continues:

“The catalyst after the drop in 2008 was recognition there were problems that had to be solved by extraordinary means. And once that was recognized, gold just shot up like a missile and really didn’t look back. I think this is probably a similar kind of correction, except now it’s not the US financial system that is in peril, it’s the eurozone that’s in peril.

The treaty or so-called treaty they struck last week is a joke. To assume countries that have been fighting for 300 years, and share absolutely nothing culturally, are suddenly going to come together and sign a piece of paper and all agree to think alike, it’s crazy.

What I think will happen, one way or the other, is Germany will decide it’s going to have to print money. That’s really the only way out. You have to have growth or you are never going to get rid of these deficits.

People can only cut back to a certain extent. If they start cutting back on food and energy you impoverish the entire population. You are seeing some of that in the US right now. A large portion of our population in the US is spending over 50% of their money on food and energy. Clearly the numbers are high in Europe too....

“What’s remarkable here, Eric, is the Germans have this long-standing inflationary fear. We all know it stems from the 1920s and the hyperinflation during the Weimar Republic and the wheelbarrows of money, etc.. But it wasn’t the hyperinflation in the ‘20s that laid the foundation for Hitler, that wasn’t the catalyst for Hitler. It was the depression in the 1930s, the protracted depression that made possible the rise of Hitler.

So the Germans are really flirting with the same kind of situation that occurred in the 1930s. If Europe continues to sink and the Germans don’t relent on this stuff we are going to head for a real deflationary depression.

My big picture is that Merkel and the Germans will allow the printing of money and once that happens, just as it happened in 2008, once you get a sign, that’s blastoff time for gold. Gold and silver will shoot up like rockets. In my opinion gold will close 2012 at $2,500 or above, probably above. Gold could easily double from here in the next 12 months if you get the kind of money printing that I expect to happen in Europe.

So how low gold will go here is literally meaningless. My advice to investors is don’t try to catch a bottom and be a hero. It could happen any time. It could be happening as we speak, it could be happening today. But it’s really irrelevant. Let’s say gold is at $3000, $4,000 or $5,000 in three or four years, which I think is very, very likely--are you really even going to remember that it went to $1,650 or $1,550? No.”

Canacol to spend $150-million (U.S.) in 2012

2011-12-12 07:49 ET - News Release
http://www.stockwatch.com/News/Item.aspx?bid=Z-C:CNE-1910158&symbol=CNE&region=C
Mr. Charle Gamba reports

CANACOL ENERGY ANNOUNCES US $150 MILLION CAPITAL PROGRAM FOR 2012

Canacol Energy Ltd. has released its calendar 2012 capital program of $150-million for exploration and development activities in Colombia, Brazil and Guyana. All figures are shown in U.S. dollars, unless otherwise specified. The budget includes the drilling of 40 gross wells (16 net wells), which consists of 26 gross development wells and 14 gross exploration wells. The budget also includes the acquisition of 740 kilometres and 361 square km of 2-D and 3-D seismic respectively, and the expansion of facilities at Canacol's operated Rancho Hermoso field. In total, the corporation plans to spend $88-million for exploration programs in Colombia, Brazil and Guyana, and $62-million for production programs in Colombia in 2012. The budget meets the corporation's exploration drilling and seismic acquisition work program commitments for 2012.

The corporation's net-after-royalty revenue production guidance for 2012 is expected to average between 14,000 to 16,000 barrels of oil per day. This guidance excludes any production from potential future exploration success. Canacol's capital program is fully financed from a combination of cash on hand and operating cash flow.

Charle Gamba, president and chief executive officer of Canacol, stated: "We expect to exit this year with approximately 14,000 net bopd and within our production guidance of 10,500 and 11,500 net average bopd for 2011. For 2012, Canacol's focus is threefold: (1) achieve strong base production and cash flow growth from drilling and recompletion programs at Rancho Hermoso field; (2) access potential near-term, light oil production and solid cash flow from the LLA 23 contract, which is located immediately north of and on trend with Rancho Hermoso field; and (3) execute our large exploration programs, which target heavy oil in the Caguan-Putumayo basin and light oil in the Putumayo and Middle Magdalena basins. Of Canacol's 2012 exploration budget of $88-million, approximately 60 per cent is dedicated to light oil exploration programs and approximately 40 per cent is committed to heavy oil programs."

Canacol finds 130 feet of net oil pay at RH 12 well
2011-11-03 08:16 ET - News Release
http://www.stockwatch.com/News/Item.aspx?bid=Z-C:CNE-1895520&symbol=CNE&region=C
Mr. Kevin Flick reports

CANACOL ENERGY LTD. PROVIDES DRILLING AND PRODUCTION UPDATE FROM ITS RANCHO HERMOSO FIELD IN COLOMBIA

Canacol Energy Ltd. has provided an update of its development drilling program at its operated Rancho Hermoso field, located in the Llanos basin of Colombia. The company has completed the drilling and casing of the second of four new development wells it plans to drill through the remainder of calendar 2011. The Rancho Hermoso 12 (RH 12) well has been placed on permanent production from the Los Cuervos-Barco reservoir, which is producing at a stabilized gross rate of approximately 14,790 barrels of oil per day (3,697 barrels of oil per day net to Canacol). The RH 12 well encountered 130 feet of net oil pay within five different reservoir intervals, which include, from top to bottom, the C7, Mirador, Los Cuervos-Barco, Guadalupe and Ubaque intervals.

Charle Gamba, president and chief executive officer of the company, commented: "We encountered a new Los Cuervos-Barco channel sandstone reservoir within the northern part of the field at apparently virgin reservoir conditions, an outcome that was not anticipated in this part of the field. The production results from the well are significantly better than we had forecast, and will ensure that Canacol has a strong finish to calendar 2011 in terms of net revenue production, with an anticipated exit rate in excess of 14,000 barrels of oil per day. Meanwhile, operations are under way to spud the Rancho Hermoso 13 development well, the third of four new wells planned in the field for the remainder of calendar 2011. With $115-million (U.S.) in cash as of our last reporting period and strong production revenues, the corporation is fully financed to execute its development and exploration drilling programs throughout 2012."
Rancho Hermoso 12 well results

The RH 12 well was spudded on Sept. 30, 2011, and reached a total depth of 10,160 feet measured depth on Oct. 15, 2011, in the Ubaque reservoir. Good oil and gas shows were encountered in the C7, Mirador, Los Cuervos-Barco, Guadalupe and Ubaque reservoirs while drilling. Petrophysical analysis of the open-hole logs indicates a total of 130 feet of oil pay within the well: 13 feet of oil pay within the C7 reservoir with average porosity of 22 per cent, 11 feet of oil pay in the Mirador reservoir with average porosity of 29 per cent, 21 feet of pay within the Los Cuervos-Barco reservoir with average porosity of 20 per cent, 40 feet of oil pay within the Guadalupe reservoir with average porosity of 23 per cent and 45 feet of oil pay within the Ubaque reservoir with average porosity of 25 per cent.

Production results

The company completed the Los Cuervos-Barco reservoir between 9,089 to 9,099 feet measured depth and 9,072 to 9,077 feet measured depth, and equipped the well with an electrosubmersible pump. The well has been placed on permanent production at a stable gross rate of approximately 14,790 barrels of oil per day (3,697 barrels of oil per day net to Canacol) of 34-degree API light oil with no water at a pump frequency of 60 hertz.

The company, through its 100-per-cent-owned Colombian subsidiary, Rancho Hermoso SA, operates the Rancho Hermoso field under two contracts with Ecopetrol SA, those being: (i) a participation contract in the Casanare area, whereby the company receives approximately 25 per cent (after royalty) of gross production from the C7, Los Cuervos-Barco, Guadalupe, Gacheta and Ubaque reservoirs, and the remainder (approximately 75 per cent) goes to Ecopetrol SA; and (ii) a risked service production contract for the Mirador reservoir, whereby the company is paid a tariff for each barrel of oil produced and Ecopetrol SA receives the oil.

Annual general shareholders meeting

The company plans to hold its annual general shareholders meeting on Jan. 27, 2012, at 2:30 p.m. MST, in Calgary, Alta. Additional details of the meeting, including its specific location in Calgary, will be provided at a later date.

We seek Safe Harbor.

2011-10-31 07:36 ET - News Release

Mr. Kevin Flick reports

CANACOL ENERGY LTD. PROVIDES UPDATE OF THE TAMARIN 1 EXPLORATION WELL IN COLOMBIA
Canacol Energy Ltd.'s Tamarin 1 exploration well, the first of five exploration wells the corporation plans to drill in the Caguan-Putumayo basin of Colombia, is being plugged and abandoned. The Tamarin 1 well was drilled on the Tamarin exploration and production (E&P) contract where the corporation holds a 100-per-cent-operated working interest. The corporation also has a 100-per-cent-operated working interest in two offsetting contracts, the Cedrela and Sangretoro E&P contracts, where the corporation plans to drill four additional exploration wells prior to midyear 2012.

The Tamarin 1 exploration well was spudded on Oct. 17, 2011, and reached a total depth of 2,774 feet on Oct. 28, 2011, without incident. The primary Mirador sandstone reservoir was encountered as anticipated with approximately 60 feet of porous sandstone, but was wet with only minor oil shows. The well is currently being plugged and abandoned.

The corporation plans to drill two exploration wells on its Cedrela E&P contract, followed by two additional wells on its Sangretoro E&P contract, through to midyear 2012.

We seek Safe Harbor.

East Asia Minerals Provides Update on Miwah Project

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/13/11 -- Further to its press release dated August 15, 2011, East Asia Minerals Corporation (TSX VENTURE:EAS) ("EAS" or the "Company") wishes to provide an update as to the status of its Miwah project located in Aceh Province, Indonesia.

East Asia Minerals Corporation has received updated advice from its legal counsel in Indonesia confirming that the mining business licenses granted in relation to the Miwah project are still valid, which allow the holders of the licenses in the Miwah project access rights to conduct limited activities on the Miwah project. Activities will be limited until additional permits are received. Further, the legal counsel in Indonesia has also confirmed that the cooperation agreements which establish the Company's interest in the Miwah project in Indonesia are valid and that the counsel is not aware of any material defects in such agreements for its Miwah project. East Asia Minerals has outlined an exploration plan below to move forward on the Miwah project during 2012.

Edward C. Rochette, CEO and Director, elaborated, "Having clarified the path forward, the Company is directing all efforts towards the completion of all necessary permitting."

EAS owns an 85% indirect equity interest in the Miwah project. The Miwah project lies within three contiguous Izin Usaha Pertambangan ("IUP"), also referred to as mining business licenses, which the Company is party to through cooperation agreements with its partners. The IUPs were issued in November 2009 by the Regent of Pidie Regency of the Province of Aceh, Indonesia.

The IUP itself does not grant its holder the complete set of permits or licences required to carry out mining activity. In order to conduct mining activity, the IUP holder is separately responsible for applying and receiving any other permits required, which may include, but are not limited to, forestry access permits and land owner consents.

Given the Miwah project is located within a designated forestry area by the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia ("MoF"), the IUP holder is responsible for obtaining a forestry borrow-use permit from the MoF, allowing it to conduct activities in designated forestry areas that would involve disturbing the underlying forest. Exploration forestry borrow-use permits granted by the MoF are generally valid for a period of two years, after which a new application must be submitted.

As the IUP holders in the Miwah project ("Miwah Companies") currently do not have a forestry borrow-use permit, the activities conducted at Miwah project are limited to activities that do not disturb the underlying forest. Should the land area permit it, such activities could include grab or channel sampling or other activities that do not have an impact on the forest area.

Further, a forest moratorium affecting land in Aceh Province and other areas of Indonesia including part of the Miwah project area has been imposed by the regulatory authorities in Indonesia designating such areas as "primary forests". The Company has applied to the Governor's office for guidance and instruction in respect of how the affected Miwah area can be re-designated as not forming part of the "primary forest" and how this designation affects the ability of the Company to apply for the necessary borrow-use permits in respect of the Miwah project. The Company understands that it is required to have the affected portions of the Miwah project area re-designated as not part of the "primary forest" area before the borrow-use permits can be properly applied for. In order to progress this request, the Company is required to complete an on-site survey together with the regulatory authorities. This surveying is currently in process and expected to be completed within next few months. Once the Company has received the recommendation of the Governor in respect of re-designating the affected areas of the Miwah project, application will be made to the Ministry of Forests for final permit approvals that will allow the Miwah Companies to resume drilling activities at Miwah. Until these permits are issued, the Company can carry out limited exploration activities under the supervision of the relevant forestry officials. On this basis, the Company is continuing to work towards the completion of its Indonesian standard feasibility study requirement under its IUP by November 2012.

If and when, a decision is made to proceed with the construction of a mining operation at Miwah project, further considerations would need to be taken into account with regards to the forestry situation at the project. The current Miwah project resource is entirely located in an MoF designated area called a Protection Forest. Under current laws, any mining operations in a Protection Forest are limited to underground mining methods that do not cause any change to the natural function of the underlying Protection Forest area.

Under current laws, the forest designation at Miwah would need to be changed in order to allow open-pit mining methods to be employed at the project. A forest designation as a Production Forest or alternatively a re-classification to non-forest designation would allow open-pit mining methods at Miwah. Such a process to reclassify a forest designation can only be initiated by the relevant Provincial Governor and requires the approval from the House of Representatives. The Company has held preliminary discussions with the Governor of Aceh Province, Indonesia with regards to a potential reclassification of the forest designation at Miwah. These discussions are at a preliminary stage.

EAS' immediate focus at Miwah project is on (a) having the forest moratorium affecting certain land comprising part of the Miwah project area re-designated; (b) applying for and receiving a forestry borrow-use permit that would allow the Miwah Companies to re-initiate drilling; and (c) completing an Indonesian standard feasibility study that is required for submission to relevant government entities by November 2012 in compliance with their current IUPs.

With regards to the proposed spin-outs of the Sangihe project and the Mongolian properties, East Asia Minerals has let the Sangihe Gold Corp. and East Asia Energy Corp.'s prospectuses lapse as it continues to work through the asset transfer approval process. East Asia Minerals will reassess the status of the spin-outs once final approvals are received.
