Die spekulativen Finanzanleger haben in der Woche zum 23. August ihre Netto-Long-Positionen bei WTI um weitere 9,8 Tsd. auf 138.771 Kontrakte reduziert, den niedrigsten Stand seit November 2010. Der Preisrückgang von WTI unter die Marke von 80 USD je Barrel in der Berichtswoche war somit maßgeblich auf Positionsauflösungen von Finanzanlegern zurückzuführen.

In den vergangenen vier Wochen sind die Netto-Long-Positionen dreimal um jeweils 10 Tsd. Kontrakte abgebaut worden. Darin kommt die zunehmende Skepsis der Finanzanleger hinsichtlich der Konjunkturaussichten zum Ausdruck. Zwar scheint derzeit etwas an Risikoappetit in die Märkte zurückzukehren. Die Aussicht auf die Rückkehr des Ölangebots aus Libyen dürfte einem deutlichen Preisanstieg über 110 USD je Barrel bei Brent jedoch entgegenstehen. Erste Lieferungen sollen Ende September aufgenommen werden.

Kupfer: Streikgefahr in der Grasberg-Mine

New York (BoerseGo.de) – Die Kupferkurse in Shanghai haben zum Wochenstart zum ersten Mal nach drei Handelstagen wieder nachgegeben. Händler verwiesen auf mögliche Bestrebungen der chinesischen Regierung das Kreditwachstum des Landes zu bremsen, um der Inflation in China weiter Einhalt zu gebieten.

Der November-Kontrakt von Kupfer fiel an der Shanghai Futures Exchange um 0,6 Prozent auf 67.060 Yuan oder 10.505 US-Dollar pro Tonne und stieg später wieder auf 67.380 Yuan. Die London Metal Exchange bleibt heute wegen eines Feiertags geschlossen.
China ist der weltweit größte Kupfer-Verbraucher. Die Maßnahmen könnten die Nachfrage nach Rohstoffen verringern, sagte Lu Ting, Analyst der Bank of America der Nachrichtenagentur von Bloomberg. Die chinesische Zentralbank könnte die Mindestreserveanforderungen für die Kreditbanken weiter erhöhen, was die Liquidität reduzieren würde.
In Indonesien verhandelt die Gewerkschaft der Grasberg-Mine, der weltweit zweitgrößten Kupfermine, derzeit über die Tarifverträge in den Jahren 2011 bis 2013. Bisher wurde noch kein Ergebnis erzielt. Sollten die Arbeiter dort wie schon Anfang Juli in den Streik treten, würde sich dies preistreibend auf die Kupferkurse auswirken.

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 30, 2011) - Advanced Explorations Inc. (the "Company" or "AEI") (TSX VENTURE:AXI)(FRANKFURT:AE6) is pleased to announce further drill results from its Tuktu Iron Ore Project located in Nunavut, Canada. Drill-hole 11TT011 intercepted 8 metres of high quality banded iron formation (BIF) grading 50.27% Fe within a broader 165.25 metre interval of BIF grading 33.61% Fe (see table below). The same broad interval also included 14 metres of 46.34% iron.

Drill-hole 11TT011 was collared approximately 125 metres ahead of drill-hole 11TT010 (reported August 17, 2011 – 237m @ 33% Fe) and drilled on the same section at the same azimuth and dip. Together the holes have intersected the footwall and hanging wall contacts of the BIF and results indicate that the width of the section is just over 300 metres wide carrying a grade of over 33% iron. The depth of the section has not been established.

Minerals Group's <GWG.V> quarterly net loss widened despite a
surge in revenue, hurt by a stock-based payout and a written-off
asset.
April-June net loss widened to C$3.6 million ($3.7 million),
or 1 Canadian cent per share, from C$1.5 million, or half a
Canadian cent per share, a year ago.
Revenue rose 63 percent to C$5.2 million. Gross margins on
manufacturing and processing operations rose 81 percent to C$1.7
million.
The quarter's net loss included C$1.7 million in stock-based
compensation and C$165,359 write-off of the Chaleur exploration
property in New Brunswick.

Die Nachfrage nach dem sicheren Hafen Gold scheint ungebrochen. Ein Händler
berichtet über einen großen Kauf an der Termin-Börse, es soll sich dabei um
einen Kauf von rund 1 Mio Unzen gehandelt haben. Dies habe den Preis innerhalb
einer Stunde von 1.791 USD auf 1.832 USD anziehen lassen. Inzwischen sei der
Preis leicht zurückgekommen und handele knapp unter 1.830 USD.

Marktteilnehmer verweisen zur Erklärung für den Goldpreisanstieg auf Aussagen
des Präsidenten der Chicago Fed, Evans, auf CNBC. Evans hatte sich skeptisch zu
den Aussichten der US-Wirtschaft geäußert.

The intercept encountered in SP11-071 indicates that the Portage Zone dips northeast at approximately -70 degrees and remains open at depth.
