Batero Gold Appoints Dr. Darryl Lindsay as Chief Operating Officer

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 4, 2011) - Batero Gold Corp. (TSX VENTURE:BAT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Darryl Lindsay as Chief Operating Officer effective October 18, 2011. Dr. Lindsay brings 20 years as an exploration geologist and project manager for major porphyry mineral development programs in South America from inception through to feasibility. Most recently, as part of his project management work, Dr. Lindsay designed, administered and directed social and environmental programs to secure operational permits for Corriente Resources which was sold in 2010 to CRCC and Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group (CRCC Tongguan) for $678M. Previously, he worked in a variety of consulting roles for SRK Consulting, CODELCO, and the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC).

Dr. Lindsay continued his career after working at the Geological Survey of Canada and obtaining a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences for his work defining the structural controls of mineralization within a porphyry style mineralized system in northern Chile. Since then, he has concentrated on structural modeling of porphyry deposits, identifying structural controls for exploration target generation, and drill targeting for a variety of mineralization styles, including porphyry and epithermal copper and gold deposits in Ecuador, Chile, Argentina and Bolivia. Most recently for CRCC Tongguan, he has directed all facets of exploration and development of the Ecuadorian asset package including the flagship Mirador Project, where his development work established a significant increase in resources to support an initial 60ktpd operation with a planned expansion to 120ktpd. His work contributed to the sale of Corriente to CRCC Tongguan, a major international Chinese resource corporation, the technical, social-environmental work permitting, and the initiation of exploitation contract negotiations with the government of Ecuador. These achievements were made despite the extremely challenging social, political and environmental conditions that have prevailed in Ecuador since 2008.

Options to purchase 225,500 shares at a price of $1.85 for a term of 5 years have been granted to Dr. Lindsay.

"Dr. Lindsay´s success in the conception, management and completion of major mineral development projects in South America identifies him as the ideal leader entering into the next phase at the Batero-Quinchia project," said Mr. Rook. "His demonstrated ability to direct major resource development programs, in all their geological, social and environmental dimensions, enhances the confidence of all of us engaged in the efforts to identify a world-class gold and copper deposit at the Batero-Quinchia project."

ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD OF BATERO GOLD CORP.

David Schectman (SGTreport EXCLUSIVE): “SILVER OVERSOLD, This is a License to Steal”

In this exclusive SGTreport silver and gold update with Miles Franklin precious metals founder David Schectman, Schectman says the bottom in precious metals is near, from both a practical and technical standpoint. David believes that silver in particular is vastly oversold and that the current low prices in the metals are “a gift, courtesy of the bullion banks.”

Gute Chancen im Goldsektor bleiben intakt
von Sebastian Weber
Mittwoch 05.10.2011, 00:03 Uhr

Kupfer: Erholung vom 14-Monatstief
von Tomke Hansmann
Dienstag 04.10.2011, 14:41 Uhr

Advanced Explorations Inc. Intersects 126 Metres of High Grade Iron at Tuktu Project

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 5, 2011) - Advanced Explorations Inc. (TSX VENTURE:AXI)(FRANKFURT:AE6) (the "Company" or "AEI") today announces further drill results from its Tuktu Iron Ore Project located in Nunavut, Canada. Results show that drill hole 11TT016 contained an interval of 126 m of 33% iron. Similarly broad intervals of >32% Fe have been previously reported by the Company, with some holes (11TT008, 11TT011) intersecting very high grades of 50.2% Fe over 9 m and 46.3% Fe over 14 m respectively. A plan map showing drill-hole locations and a complete table of all released drill results to date can be found on the company website at www.advanced-exploration.com.

John Gingerich, President and CEO, commented:

"The consistent high quality results from Tuktu 1 continue to demonstrate its potential to become another large tonnage iron ore deposit on the Melville Peninsula, where the Company has secured all of the available banded iron formation within 50 km of the coast. Our 4,000 metre 20 drill-hole program has only tested one magnetic anomaly within the Tuktu claim block; there are many more untested magnetic anomalies, and mapping this summer has confirmed that they are in fact Banded Iron Formations. We are now working on a NI 43-101 resource statement for Tuktu 1 and expect to release the results within this quarter".

Dow/Gold-Ratio sinkt
05.10.2011 | 9:17 Uhr | GoldMoney

Rick Rule - Many Black Swans that Could Hit This Market

With stocks turning higher, gold near $1,625 and silver at $30, today King World News interviewed one of the most street smart pros, Rick Rule, Founder of Global Resource Investments, which is now part of the $10 billion strong Sprott Asset Management. When asked about the tremendous volatility and wild swings in all of the markets, Rule responded, “What I see happening is a crisis of confidence. The market disarray in 2008 was famously attributed to black swans. As we’ve talked about before, there seem to be so many (black) swans on the horizon now that they resemble a cloud.”

Rick Rule continues:

“Will it be Greece? Will it be Italy? Will it be American municipalities? What I can tell you for sure, Eric, is that the incredible depreciation in commodity prices, not just gold and silver prices, but commodity prices in general that we have seen over the last week, are not a function of fundamentals, but rather a function of liquidity.

This is a set of circumstances that is going to be extremely unsettled and it’s going to be unsettled for a very, very long period of time. Unfortunately some of our clients and some of your readers won’t be able to stand it, but for those who do, the incredible price spikes, up and down that we are going to see are going to be a stock pickers paradise.”

When asked about gold, Rule replied, “If there is a bid for gold and a hedge fund is having trouble meeting redemptions, they will sell their gold. How long can this go on? I don’t know. Remember this, Eric, in the midst of the biggest gold bull market of all-time, the 1970 to 1980 bull market, when gold went from $35 to $850 an ounce, in the middle of that decade, in 1975, the gold price fell by half....

“Could that happen now? I don’t think so. The set of circumstances that caused that market to fall by half was an increase in real US interest rates and a consequent increase in the value of the US dollar. I don’t see that occurring.

Remember also, in 1975 when the gold price fell from $200 to $100 an ounce, certainly an unnerving event for people who were long gold, in the five years after that gold ran from $100 an ounce to $850 an ounce. So someone who got shaken out of the gold market, in a cyclical decline, deprived themselves of an 850% escalation over the next five years.

When asked about silver specifically, Rule stated, “I was just at the Doug Casey Research Conference in Phoenix and our Chairman, Eric Sprott, made the point that the paper market will be conducive to a sharp up move (going forward). When will this event unfold? I don’t know, but it certainly looks like a contingency worth speculating on.”
