Atico Mining Corp. has released its operating results for the three months ended March 31, 2016, from its El Roble mine. Production for the quarter totalled 4.28 million pounds of copper and 2,566 ounces of gold in concentrates, an increase of 114 per cent for copper and 12 per cent for gold over the same period in 2015.
"We are very pleased to report the company has had another strong operating quarter reaching historical highs for processed ore and produced copper," said Fernando E. Ganoza, chief executive officer. "Along with robust operating results, the company has made two concentrate shipments during the quarter that will be reflected in the first quarter financial results. We will continue to optimize the mine in the subsequent quarters and focus on delivering on our 2016 guidance."
First quarter operational highlights:
Production of 4.28 million pounds of copper contained in concentrates, an increase of 114 per cent over the first quarter of 2015;
Production of 2,566 ounces of gold contained in concentrates, an increase of 12 per cent over the first quarter of 2015;
Average processed tonnes per day of 778, an increase of 40 per cent over the first quarter of 2015;
Copper head grade of 3.81 per cent, an increase of 31 per cent over the first quarter of 2015;
Gold head grade 2.25 grams per tonne, a decrease of 28 per cent over the first quarter of 2015;
Copper and gold recovery of 94.4 per cent and 67.2 per cent, an increase of 1 per cent for copper and no significant change for gold over the first quarter of 2015.
First quarter operational review
Optimization of the operation continued throughout the first quarter with positive results in increasing the daily throughput and mill capacity. Copper recovery has continued to improve quarter over quarter, maintaining historical highs, while gold recovery still shows opportunity for further improvements. The company plans to capitalize on these opportunities in gold recovery throughout the year by focusing on commissioning of newly installed equipment. The operation saw its highest throughput average to date while the current production schedule continues on track for the operation to deliver on guidance throughout the remainder of the year.

El Roble mine
The El Roble mine is a high-grade underground copper and gold mine with nominal processing plant capacity of 800 tonnes per day, located in the Department of Choco in Colombia. Its commercial product is a copper-gold concentrate.
Since obtaining control of the mine on Nov. 22, 2013, Atico has upgraded the operation from a nominal capacity of 400 tonnes per day. The mine has a continuous operating history of 22 years, with recorded production of 1.5 million tonnes of ore at an average head grade of 2.6 per cent copper and an estimated gold grade of 2.5 grams per tonne. Copper and gold mineralization at the El Roble property occurs in volcanogenic massive sulphide lenses.
Since entering into the option agreement in January, 2011, to acquire 90 per cent of El Roble, Atico has aggressively explored the mine and surrounding claims. The company has completed 31,377 metres of diamond drilling and identified numerous prospective targets for VMS deposits on the 6,679-hectare property. This exploration led to the discovery of high-grade copper and gold mineralization below the 2,000 level, the lowest production level of the El Roble mine. Atico has developed a new adit access from the 1,880 elevation to develop these new resources.
El Roble has a measured and indicated resource of 1.87 million tonnes grading 3.46 per cent copper and 2.27 grams per tonne gold, at a cut-off grade of 0.93 per cent copper equivalent. Mineralization is open at depth and along strike, and the company plans to further test the limits of the resource.
On the larger land package, the company has identified a prospective stratigraphic contact between volcanic rocks and black and grey cherts that has been traced by Atico geologists for 10 kilometres. This contact has been determined to be an important control on VMS mineralization on which Atico has identified 15 prospective target areas for VMS-type mineralization occurrence, which is the focus of the surface drill program at El Roble.

Habe etwas Angst das Gold jetzt doch so langsam die Luft ausgeht und rechne auch wieder mit einem stärkeren Dollar. Von daher ist Vorsicht angesagt!
Natürlich nur meine Meinung.

das ist sicherlich richtig, nur ein realisierter Gewinn ist ein Gewinn - was mir so durch den Kopf geht - kann es sein das nun realtiv still und leise der Turnaround im Sektor eingesetzt hat......die jetzt entstandenen Kursbewegungen sind vom Massenmarkt unabhängig gekommen
eventuell sehen wir nun doch einen mittelfristigen positiven Trend für Rohstoffe

Habe etwas Angst das Gold jetzt doch so langsam die Luft ausgeht und rechne auch wieder mit einem stärkeren Dollar. Von daher ist Vorsicht angesagt!
Natürlich nur meine Meinung.
beim Gold sieht man es immer ganz gut finde ich, erst ziehen die Explorer und Produzenten an, dann kommt der Rohstoffpreis der verzögert anzieht .. vielleicht wirklich ein auf breiterer Front angelegter Aufwärtstrend bei Rohstoffen, mittelfristig sehe ich das auch, bei den ganzen eingedampften Projekten und Insos von zig Explorernin den letzten Jahren ..

kann mir gut vorstellen das eine Erholung bei den Chinesen eine Kettenreaktion auslösen könnte - anziehende Rohstoffpreise führen dann auch zu Erholung der ganzen BRICS + neue Nachfrage
insofern kann der Ölpreis durchaus auch anziehen obwohl alle mehr fördern - abgesehen davon weiß auch niemand mehr wo lagern die das alles , so richtig glaub ich nicht an endlose Förderausweitung, mehr Propaganda

Each unit will consist of one common share and one 15-cent share purchase warrant for a period of one year. The proceeds will be used for exploration on its newly acquired lithium projects and general working capital.
All securities issued under the offering are subject to a hold period of four months plus one day in accordance with applicable securities laws.
There is a finder's fee payable in accordance with TSX Venture Exchange guidelines.
The company has also set 2.5 million incentive stock options at 15 cents per share for a period of two years.
