EXCELSIOR MINING ANNOUNCES COLLABORATION WITH NUTON, A RIO TINTO VENTURE
Excelsior Mining Corp. has entered into a collaboration agreement with Nuton LLC, a Rio Tinto venture, to evaluate the use of its Nuton copper heap leaching technologies at Excelsior's Johnson Camp mine in Cochise county, Arizona.
Rio Tinto has developed the Nuton technologies, an extensive portfolio of advanced copper heap leaching technologies targeted at primary sulfide minerals (including lower grade minerals), which could not otherwise be processed using traditional leaching or sulfide processing technologies. These technologies offer the potential to produce additional copper in a cost-effective manner that has significant environmental benefits and reduces waste from new and ongoing operations.
The first stage of the collaboration involves Nuton completing certain test work on materials collected from the Company's Johnson Camp mine project to confirm that suitable conditions exist to deploy the Nuton technologies. Assuming this test work is successful, the parties would then work toward negotiating commercial terms for a full-scale deployment of the Nuton technologies at the Johnson Camp mine. Test work is expected to commence during the first quarter of 2023 with a view toward potentially negotiating commercial terms dependent on the test results and other factors during the third quarter of 2023.

Westhaven Gold Corp. has released drill results from its drill campaign at its 100-per-cent-owned 17,623-hectare Shovelnose gold property. Shovelnose is located within the prospective Spences Bridge Gold Belt (SBGB), which borders the Coquihalla Highway 30 kilometres south of Merritt, British Columbia.
Westhaven is reporting assays for 22 holes from its drill campaign at Shovelnose. An additional 10 holes are in the lab pending assays. Gareth Thomas, President & CEO, comments: "We have now drilled greater than 450 gram-metre gold intercepts on three separate zones at Shovelnose gold property. This latest intercept at Franz (473 gram-metres gold), is 1km northwest from the hole at the FMN zone where we drilled the highest gold-silver intercept ever on the property at 857 gram-metres gold, and 2.3km from the 1.1-million-ounce gold equivalent resource at South Zone. The recent Franz drilling is significant because the mineralization starts at surface, is easily accessible, and bonanza grade. Hole SN22-333 (12.00m of 39.42 g/t Au) was collared 50m from SN20-101 (7.78m of 14.84 g/t Au) which was the best hole drilled at Franz until now. Drilling at the Franz will resume shortly with the view of stepping out to the northwest to test for the extension of this high-grade intercept."

A total of 27 holes have now been drilled out of an anticipated 46 holes, with assays received to date for 15 holes, including the five reported in this release.
The program continues to support the tenor of mineralization while reducing drill spacing from 500 feet (150 metres) to 250 feet (76 metres) centres, suitable to upgrade the resource from the inferred category to the indicated category. Drilling has been staged to infill areas closest to the inferred high-grade core initially before expanding out toward the west.

1446 GMT - Base metal prices pulled back in trading in London, with caution over Chinese demand and the country's reopening after Covid-19. Cash copper prices closed 1.6% lower at $9,188.85 a metric ton while aluminum was 3.6% lower at $2,539.85 a ton. "We are all aware of the bullish narrative for metals around the energy transition," Marex's Al Munro says in a note. Munro says that a number of banks had revised up their metal price targets because of green demand but that President Xi's call for greater efforts to fight Covid-19 with specific concerns around rural areas ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday "ties in with the view that the market might be overly optimistic around the speed of China's reopening, particularly in the construction space." The data may show that US refineries along the Gulf Coast are still struggling to get back to normal activity after several plants experienced partial or complete shutdowns in late December when sub-freezing temperatures blew across Texas and the region over several days, reportedly damaging equipment. Total US refinery utilization was operating at 92% of capacity before the bad weather, then dropped to a nearly two-year-low 79.6% and last week's data showed utilization was still only back to 84.1%. natgas: es lässt sich konstatieren: die unterstützung um 3.4000$ wurde gesprengt und intraday auch gleich als neuen widerstand bestätigt (test von unten mit th bei 3.396$ quasi noch mit einer punktlandung). das tt liegt derzeit bei 3.194$.

In den vergangenen Tagen fiel der Palladiumkurs von der Hürde bei 1.804 USD bis unter die 1.700-USD-Marke und löste damit die Erholung der letzten Wochen nach unten auf. Die nächsten Tage dürften wieder etwas "ruppiger" werden.
