1024 ET - Natural gas prices fall 2.5% to $2.167/mmBtu, leaving them at a one-month-low and less than 10 cents above a 30-month-low reached in February. "Natural Gas futures are trending lower through early trading, continuing with yesterday's 4.9% decline day-over-day," says Victoria Dircksen at Schneider Electric, in a research note. "NOAA's 6 to 10-day outlook predicts warmer-than-normal temperatures across the Southern regions of the lower 48 and near-normal temperatures in the Northeast, driving looser supply markets as weather-driven demand begins to retreat."

Depending on how China deals with foreign issues important to Canada and the US, namely on supporting Russia with arms or its stance on Taiwan, this could put Ballard's presence and investment there at risk. "We see company-specific geopolitical risks arising from BLDP's elevated exposure to China where the company has committed to investing $130 million over the next three years on expanding its manufacturing footprint," Patel says. CIBC lowers its price target on the stock to $5.25 from $5.50. Shares are trading up 6.2% at $5.36.

Discovery Intercepts 241 g/t AgEq over 39 m in Feasibility Study Drilling at Cordero

TORONTO, March 22, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Discovery Silver Corp. (TSX: DSV, OTCQX: DSVSF) (“Discovery” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce results from Feasibility Study drill holes on its flagship Cordero silver project (“Cordero” or “the Project”) located in Chihuahua State, Mexico. These holes consist of reserve and resource expansion drilling and will be incorporated in a Feasibility Study in conjunction with a resource update planned for the first half of 2024.

Highlight intercepts from this current set of drill holes include:

32 maveraging 158 g/t AgEq1 (77 g/t Ag, 0.16 g/t Au, 0.7% Pb and 1.3% Zn) from 108 m and 39 m averaging 241 g/t AgEq1 (124 g/t Ag, 0.09 g/t Au, 1.2% Pb and 1.9% Zn) from 185 m within the reserves pit in the South Corridor in hole C22-677.
36 m averaging 126 g/t AgEq1 (35 g/t Ag, 0.06 g/t Au, 0.7% Pb and 1.7% Zn) from 481 m and 27 m averaging 133 g/t AgEq1 (25 g/t Ag, 0.06 g/t Au, 0.6% Pb and 2.2% Zn) from 555 m in hole C22-687; these intervals were toward the bottom and beneath the reserves pit in an area previously modelled as waste.
15 m averaging 370 g/t AgEq1 (137 g/t Ag, 0.05 g/t Au, 3.1% Pb and 3.5% Zn) from 50 m and 23 m averaging 141 g/t AgEq1 (55 g/t Ag, 0.04 g/t Au, 0.9% Pb and 1.5% Zn) from 143 m in hole C22-671; these intervals were approximately 1.5 km northeast of the reserves pit.

Tony Makuch, CEO, states: “Our recent Pre-Feasibility Study outlined the potential for Cordero to become a top three primary silver mine globally based on average annual production of 33 Moz AgEq over an 18-year mine life. Our follow up drilling since this study demonstrates there is further growth potential still to be realized within our upcoming Feasibility Study. Drilling has returned a number of higher-grade intercepts within and below the reserves pit in areas that were previously modeled as low-grade or waste demonstrating the potential to further lower the strip ratio through converting waste to ore within the pit and to expand the pit at depth.

1336 GMT - Metal prices are moving upward, with the market awaiting today's Federal Reserve decision on interest rates. Three-month copper is up 0.6% to $8,844 a metric ton while aluminum is 0.8% higher at $2,286.50 a ton. Gold meanwhile is edging 0.1% higher at $1,942.60 a troy ounce. "Conditions are quiet today as everyone is on Fed watch," says Ed Meir, president of Commodity Research Group. Meir says the market is largely pricing in a 25 basis point hike later today. However, Meir adds that the more important focus will be on the remarks from Fed's Chair Jerome Powell on the recent banking disruptions and how this will affect policy going forward, especially if the run on regional banks continues.

0938 ET - WTI crude futures lose 2.5% to $68.19 a barrel "as renewed banking worries force a cut in risk appetite that is associating with a strengthening in the US dollar," Ritterbusch analysts say in a note. "We are maintaining a bearish macro view predicated on the likelihood of additional banking problems" and increasing recession risks denting fuel consumption, they say. Ritterbusch expects "small increases" in gasoline and distillate stocks in next week's EIA inventory report. The firm expects WTI fall "to the $62 region."

NatGasWeather.com notes in a report that "a comfortable US pattern is favored April 6-10 as chilly air retreats to near the Canadian border," adding that generally "temperatures across the northern US will experience highs mostly in the 30s and 50s, w/ lows of 10s to 30s for moderate demand." NatGasWeather.com com expects "a volatile week of trade," noting that April contracts expire Tuesday-Wednesday. "It's possible May'23 contracts experience negative roll yield since it's been trading nearly 15 [cents] more expensive than April'23 and could drop towards April'23 prices."

Generation Mining Shares Jump After Offtake Deal Finalized With Glencore

Generation Mining Ltd.'s shares rallied Monday after the Canadian company finalized a deal to sell copper concentrate from its Marathon palladium-copper project in northwestern Ontario to resources giant Glencore PLC. In morning trading, the shares were 9.4% higher, at 58 Canadian cents (42 U.S. cents), narrowing the year-to-date drop to 26%. Under the offtake agreement, Generation Mining said that Glencore would buy an average of 50% of the total copper concentrate produced from the project, which is expected to be treated by Glencore's Horne smelter in the neighboring province of Quebec. The company said the term sheet includes expected specifications for the polymetallic copper concentrate to be produced at Marathon and treatment and refining charges. The agreement also provides additional benefits for Generation Mining, including metal payment terms, credit support from Glencore for the project's environmental reclamation financial surety requirements, and working capital facilities, Generation Mining said. Generation Mining said it has also finalized an offtake term sheet with a European copper group that will buy the balance of the concentrate produced by the Marathon project. The company said that as it drives the project to construction and production, it expects to enter into final, binding offtake agreements for 100% of the production in conjunction with the completion of its project financing, which is expected later this year.
