Kootenay Silver drills six m of 166.5 g/t Ag at RAM

2016-11-23 09:23 ET - News Release

Mr. James McDonald reports

KOOTENAY ANNOUNCES NEW DRILL DISCOVERY PROXIMAL TO LA CIGARRA SILVER DEPOSIT

Kootenay Silver Inc. has provided results from the first 11 holes of its maiden drill program on its RAM structure, situated approximately 700 metres to the west and south of the company's La Cigarra silver deposit in Chihuahua state, Mexico.

The program drill tested a 400-metre strike length of the 3,800-metre-long RAM structure and dip extents between 65 and 200 metres. Assay results from drilling confirm RAM is a strongly mineralized silver system, hosting multiple zones of quartz veining as sheeted, stockworked or brecciated veins within an altered structure that measures 50 to 150 metres wide. The company reports the system remains open along strike to the north and south for up to 3,400 metres and down dip to the west.

Kootenay president and chief executive officer James McDonald states: "Results from the first 11 holes of the program confirm RAM is an entirely new silver discovery and development of this mineralized structure will remain a top priority for the company. The strength and consistency of veining within the structure bodes well for the discovery of further silver resources at depth and along both strike directions. Drilling returned good continuity of silver grades across a 400-metre strike length and widespread silver mineralization was encountered in all but two of the 11 holes, confirming the structure's large-scale potential. Moving forward, the close proximity of the RAM structure to our established La Cigarra silver resource offers excellent potential for future shared infrastructure and economies of scale, as we continue to develop RAM and advance our main La Cigarra deposit towards the economic stage."

Drill highlights from RAM zone:

CC-16-04 returning 89.83 grams per tonne silver over 18.0 metres; including 190.5 g/t silver over 3.0 metres;
CC-16-09 returning 166.5 g/t silver over 6.0 meters; including 761.0 g/t silver over 1.0 metre;
CC-16-03 returning 58.86 g/t silver over 16.5 meters; including 141.25 g/t silver over 4.5 metres;
CC-16-01 returning 27.60 g/t silver over 31.1 meters; including 83.0 g/t silver over 4.45 metres;
CC-16-06 returning 56.45 g/t silver over 14.7 meters; including 80.14 g/t silver over 9.35 metres.

The RAM structure is one of eight prospective targets that have been identified proximal to the La Cigarra deposit with the potential to add near-surface silver resources to the project.

Drilling notes

The 11 drill holes are the first phase of a planned, continuing multiphase drilling program that will be conducted on the La Cigarra project over the next 12 to 18 months. Follow-up drilling of the 3,800-metre-long RAM structure is expected to commence in the early part of the new year and will form part of a larger strategy to test additional undrilled targets and the extensions of the La Cigarra deposit itself.

The company reports that drilling continues at the project with the core drill rig collared at hole 14 within the La Soledad zone, located approximately 1,000 metres south of the La Cigarra silver resource. Once the current 3,000-metre drill program is complete and results of relogging and detailed mapping of the deposit are interpreted, the details and dates of the anticipated follow-up programs will be finalized and announced in a future news release.

A summary of the drilling within the mineralized zone are given in the attached table.

Lion One drills 8.41 m of 71.41 g/t Au at Tuvatu

2016-11-23 09:17 ET - News Release

Mr. Walter Berukoff reports

LION ONE INTERSECTS 71.41 G/T GOLD OVER 8.41 METERS AT TUVATU

Drilling, dewatering and development have begun at Lion One Metals Ltd.'s 100-per-cent-owned and fully permitted Tuvatu gold project located on the island of Viti Levu in Fiji.

Initial drilling results include 71.41 grams per tonne gold over 8.41 metres from infill drill hole TUDDH 406, including 126.67 grams per tonne gold over 4.56 metres, drilled from surface to a vertical depth of 92 metres.

Lion One has commenced continuing drilling of infill and extensional targets of the Tuvatu gold deposit, with one surface drill rig currently operating and one underground drill rig on site and ready to be mobilized as the dewatering of the Tuvatu decline progresses.

"These initial infill drilling results further confirm the high grades and continuity of near-surface mineralization at Tuvatu," said Stephen Mann, Lion One's managing director. "Our objective with our ongoing drilling programs is to extend and increase confidence in the resource ahead of mine development at Tuvatu."

The Tuvatu decline was developed during a previous feasibility study and consists of 1,341 metres of decline, strike and rise development to a depth of 240 metres below surface. Previous work included systematic geological mapping and channel sampling of the UR, URW, GRF, SKL and Murau lodes. A total of 588 historic channel samples from this area exceeded one gram per tonne gold, 214 channel samples exceeded 10 grams per tonne gold and 32 samples exceeded 100 grams per tonne gold. The highest historic value from this program was a channel sample of 0.6 metre grading 840 grams per tonne gold.

The decline is driven through competent impermeable monzonite with stable ground conditions. Water ingress is primarily due to a permeable structure, the Core Shed fault, 150 metres inside the decline. Rehabilitation of the Core Shed fault will require cementing and heavy ground support and will enable access to the Nasivi/SKL stockwork zone, which is targeted for further drilling and initial extraction. The existing decline can accommodate 15-tonne trucks and provides access to mineralization targeted for extraction in years one to three of the Tuvatu mine plan.

Jomaki Ridge

Trenching and sampling continue with results pending at the Jomaki Ridge prospect situated within SML 62, 1.5 kilometres southwest of the planned processing plant site at Tuvatu.

Navilawa tenement application

The company has been advised by the Mineral Resources Department that the review process for Navilawa tenement applications is still under way.

Quality assurance/quality control

Samples for the 2016 drill program are marked, logged and cut with a diamond saw on site, placed in sealed bags and sent to the company's Nadi office. Samples are shipped to Brisbane, Queensland, for customs clearance, then Townsville, Queensland, for sample preparation and multielement ICP analysis. A quality assurance/quality control program, including the insertion of standards and blanks, has been implemented. The 2016 exploration program is performed under the supervision of Stephen Mann, PGeo, managing director of Lion One Metals and a competent person under JORC. Mr. Mann has reviewed and approved the technical content of this release. Albert Siega, PEng, a full-time employee of the company and qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, has reviewed and approved the technical content of this release. The company is not basing its production decision on a feasibility study of mineral reserves demonstrating economic and technical viability; as a result, there is increased uncertainty and economic and technical risks associated with its production decision.

About Tuvatu

The Tuvatu gold project is located 17 kilometres from the Nadi International Airport on the main island of Viti Levu in Fiji. Discovered in 1987, Tuvatu was advanced by previous owners through underground exploration and development from 1997 through to the completion of a feasibility study in 2000. Acquired by Lion One in 2011, the project has over 100,000 metres of drilling completed to date, in addition to 1,600 metres of underground development. Tuvatu is a high-grade, low-sulphidation, epithermal gold deposit hosted inside a South Pacific-style volcanic caldera, along the Viti Levu lineament, Fiji's own corridor of high-grade gold deposits. In January, 2016, the Prime Minister of Fiji, Josaia V. Bainimarama, formally presented the previously granted Tuvatu mining lease to Lion One, concluding the permitting process for the development of an underground gold mine and processing plant at Tuvatu, demonstrating strong government support for Fiji's 85-year-old gold mining industry.

As per its independent June 1, 2015, NI 43-101 preliminary economic assessment technical report on the Tuvatu gold project, the company envisages a low-cost underground gold mining operation producing 352,931 ounces of gold at head grades of 11.30 grams per tonne gold over an initial seven-year mine life, including 262,000 ounces at 15.30 grams per tonne through year three, at cash costs of $567 (U.S.) per ounce, with all-in sustaining costs of $779 (U.S.) per ounce. Total capex of $48.6-million (U.S.) includes a contingency of $6.1-million (U.S.) with an 18-month preproduction schedule and an 18-month payback on capital. At a $1,200 (U.S.) gold price, the project generates net cash flow of $112.66-million (U.S.) and an internal rate of return of 52 per cent (after tax). Tuvatu is situated upon a five-hectare footprint inside a larger 384-hectare mining lease that contains numerous high-grade prospects proximal to Tuvatu, at depth, and up to 1.50 kilometres along strike from the resource area, giving the project near-term production potential and further discovery upside inside of one of Fiji's underexplored volcanic goldfields.

The information in this report that relates to the exploration results or mineral resources is based upon, and fairly represents, information and supporting documentation compiled by Mr. Mann, who is an officer and director of the company and is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Mr. Mann has sufficient experience relevant to the style of mineralisation and type of deposit under consideration and the activity in which he is undertaking to qualify as a competent person under 2012 edition of the Australasian Code for Reporting Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves (JORC code). Mr. Mann consents to the inclusion in this news release of the matters based on his information in the form and context in which it appears. The company confirms that it is not aware of any new information or data that materially affect the information included in previous news releases referred to above and confirms that the form and context in which the findings are presented have not been materially modified from the original news releases. Mr. Siega, a full-time employee of the company and a qualified person as defined by NI 43-101, has reviewed and approved the technical content of this release.

SANTIAGO, Chile, Nov. 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile S.A. (SQM) (NYSE: SQM; Santiago Stock Exchange: SQM-B, SQM-A) reported today earnings for the nine months ended September 30, 2016 of US$197.4 million (US$0.75 per ADR), an increase from US$168.6 million (US$0.64 per ADR) for the nine months ended September 30, 2015. Gross profit reached US$406.2 million (29.3% of revenues) for the nine months ended September 30, 2016, lower than US$424.8 million (32.3% of revenues) recorded for the nine months ended September 30, 2015. Revenues totaled US$1,385.5 million for the nine months ended September 30, 2016, representing an increase of 5.2% compared to US$1,317.0 million reported for the nine months ended September 30, 2015.

The Company also announced earnings for the third quarter of 2016, reporting net income of US$55.8 million (US$0.21 per ADR) compared to US$13.7 million (US$0.05 per ADR) for the third quarter of 2015. Gross profit for the third quarter of 2016 reached US$145.7 million; higher than the US$129.5 million recorded for the third quarter of 2015. Revenues totaled US$504.0 million, an increase of approximately 13.2% compared to the third quarter of 2015, when revenues amounted to US$445.2 million.

As a result of the rains that affected the area of Tocopilla in August 2015, the railway between Coya Sur and Tocopilla was damaged and the train stopped operating at that time. Since then, SQM has been using trucks to move the product from Coya Sur to Tocopilla. Detailed engineering studies were performed to assess the damage of the railway. During the third quarter of 2016, the report was completed; it concluded that the cost and time needed to repair the railway at this time is not economical in the short and medium term. As a result of this determination, the Company wrote-off the assets related to the train, and reported a non-cash, one-time before-tax impact of approximately US$33 million to its third quarter 2016 financial statements. The amount represents approximately 0.7% of the total assets of the Company. The net income comparison between the third quarter of 2016 and the third quarter of 2015 is also affected by the write-off related to stopping the operations of the mines in Pedro de Valdivia, which had a one-time, before-tax effect of US$56.3 million on net income in 2015.

SQM's Chief Executive Officer, Patricio de Solminihac, stated, "The third quarter results were mainly driven by the higher lithium prices seen during this quarter. In general, trends seen during the third quarter were in line with what we have seen in previous months: higher prices in lithium, lower prices in iodine, lower average prices in the potassium chloride market, and increased price pressure in the specialty plant nutrient market. Lithium volumes and prices exceeded expectations during the third quarter. We expect total market demand growth to be between 12-13% this year. For upcoming years, we expect growth to be between 8-10%. During the third quarter, we also announced plans to invest approximately US$30 million in a lithium hydroxide expansion project, which would allow us to more than double our lithium hydroxide capacity. We believe this expansion will allow us to further expand margins and maximize value in this business line."

He continued by saying, "Our sales volumes of iodine continue to grow, and this was no different in the third quarter when sales volumes topped 2,600 MT. Sales volumes will grow during 2016, and we expect total sales volumes to exceed 9,500 MT this year.

"In the fertilizer markets, potassium chloride sales volumes for the first nine months of 2016 were up over 22% when compared to the same period last year. We expect the sales volumes for 2016 to be at least 20% stronger than the sales volumes we saw last year."

Mr. de Solminihac concluded by saying, "As part of our growth strategy we are continuously looking for opportunities to develop low-cost projects related to our core businesses where we believe we can add value at the development stage and will have sustainable competitive advantages. In March of this year, we announced a joint venture with Lithium Americas to develop the Caucharí-Olaroz lithium project in the Jujuy province of Argentina. We currently have sixty people working on this project, and can report that the project still expects to begin construction during the first half of 2017. In September, we announced an investment of US$20 million in Elemental Minerals Limited, which would grant us access to some potassium deposits in the Republic of Congo; preliminary studies suggest these deposits boast some of the highest grade potassium available and could therefore potentially lead to some of the lowest-cost production in the market. Feasibility studies are currently being evaluated, and should be completed during 2018."

Wenn ich das richtig sehe könnten dann die 1050$ auch noch angelaufen werden. :eek: :gruebel:
