Ölpreise stabilisieren sich nach starkem Kursrutsch
NEW YORK/LONDON/WIEN (dpa-AFX) - Die Ölpreise haben sich am Dienstag nach einem ungewöhnlich starkem Kursrutsch vom späten Vorabend stabilisiert. Im Mittagshandel kostete ein Barrel (159 Liter) der Nordseesorte Brent zur Lieferung im November 113,68 US-Dollar. Das waren elf Cent weniger als am Montag. Der Preis für ein Barrel der amerikanischen Sorte WTI (West Texas Intermediate) zur Oktober-Lieferung sank etwas stärker um 35 Cent auf 96,28 Dollar.
Fundamentale Faktoren spielten in der bisherigen Handels-Session laut Experten eine untergeordnete Rolle. Der deutsche ZEW-Index habe die Finanzmärkte kaum tangiert. Am späten Montagabend waren die Ölpreise aus zunächst unerfindlichen Gründen um rund drei Dollar abgestürzt. Der Kurssturz hatte sich innerhalb nur weniger Minuten ereignet. Marktteilnehmer spekulierten über eine Falscheingabe im elektronischen Handelssystem. Derartige Falscheingaben - im Handelsjargon "Fat Finger" genannt - können starke Kursbewegungen nach sich ziehen, da sie zahlreiche automatische Transaktionen auslösen können.
Nach Einschätzung von Rohstoff-Experte Eugen Weinberg von der Commerzbank hat es für den Kursrutsch zumindest keinen erkennbaren fundamentalen Grund gegeben: Impulse habe es weder von der Währungsseite, noch von den Aktienmärkten, noch von der Nachrichtenfront gegeben. "Solch starke Preisausschläge lassen Kritik am Hochfrequenzhandel und dem übertriebenen Einfluss der Spekulanten auf den wichtigsten Rohstoff aufkommen und dürften von Politik und Börsenregulatoren genau beobachtet werden", so Weinberg.

Palladium - Erst einmal Luftholen!

Die Edelmetalle Gold und Silber haussieren weiter und auch Palladium geht fast in die Senkrechte. Am 14. September erst sprang der Kurs über die Marke von 700 USD und damit auf den höchsten Stand seit Mitte März dieses Jahres.
Palladium entwickelt sich damit gemäß meine Prognose vom 26. Juli "Palladium - 700 USD noch in diesem Jahr?". Dass es nun jedoch so schnell gehen würde, damit habe ich so nicht gerechnet. Immerhin sahen wir seit der Analyse einen Anstieg um 24%.
Nach Elliott Wave entspricht der Anstieg seit dem Jahrestief einem 5-teiligen Aufwärtsimpuls. Die Aufwärtsbewegung bei Palladium ist damit zunächst ausgereizt. Auch die Widerstandszone zwischen 695 und 720 USD hat ihrem Namen bisher alle Ehre gemacht. Die Kurse tauchten kurz in diese Zone hinein, um dann letztendlich doch daran zu scheitern. Palladium zeigte anschließend einen klassischen Pullback. Heute wurde das Tagestief schon wieder mit 670 USD gehandelt.
Die Rally ist damit meiner Meinung nach vorbei. In den nächsten vier bis sieben Wochen wird Palladium den Anstieg von 552 auf 704 USD korrigieren müssen. Als Kurszielbereich kommt aus heutiger Sicht dafür der Bereich zwischen 600 und 610 USD in Frage. Dort liegt zum einen die Welle 4 als klassisches Rücklaufziel nach einem Impuls. Zum anderen verläuft bei ziemlich genau 600 USD das 61,8% Fibonacci-Korrektur-Retracement.
Im Anschluss an diese Gegenbewegung kann ich mir einen Anstieg auf 850 USD gut vorstellen. Die erste untere Widerstandszone sollte dann nachhaltig durchstoßen werden können und den Weg in Richtung der 2011er Hochs ebnen.

Bergarbeiter-Streiks bedrohen Südafrikas Wirtschaft
JOHANNESBURG – Die Streiks der Bergarbeiter und andere Produktionsstörungen haben Südafrikas Wirtschaft in diesem Jahr bereits 3,1 Milliarden Rand, etwa 286 Millionen Euro, gekostet. Das erklärte Präsident Jacob Zuma am Montag und warnte davor, dass dem Land ein Rückfall in die Rezession drohe. Zuma sagte in seiner Rede vor dem Gewerkschaftsverbund Cosatu, die Ausfälle in den Bergwerken würden sich massiv auf die Wirtschaft auswirken, sowohl auf die Förderung als auch auf die Industrie. Corvus Gold's JV Partner Reports Positive Drill Results at West Pogo Project, Alaska
VANCOUVER, Sept. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ - Corvus Gold Inc. ("Corvus" or the "Company") - (TSX: KOR, OTCQX: CORVF) reports the completion of the 2012 summer exploration program at the West Pogo Project in Alaska as provided by its joint venture partner Alix Resources (TSX-V:AIX). Alix Resources who are fully funding the West Pogo exploration program completed two diamond core drill holes totalling 610 metres. Both holes encountered favorable host rocks with extensive alteration. Corvus' JV partner believes the results (Table 1) suggest they are on the edge of a significant gold system and will continue to explore the prospective targets in 2013.
About the West Pogo Gold Project
Alix Resources optioned the 24km2 West Pogo claim block in February 2012 and, under the terms of the option agreement, can earn a 60% interest in the property by incurring expenditures of USD 5M over five years. Corvus has reserved a 2-3% NSR royalty on the project, with Alix having the right to purchase 1% for USD 1M (NR Mar. 5, 2012).
The West Pogo project is located approximately 3.5 km's to the west of Sumitomo Metals Corp's Pogo Gold Mine. The Pogo Mine road and power line pass through the West Pogo Property providing easy access to the property. At West Pogo there is the potential to discover high-grade gold mineralization in both steeply and shallowly dipping structural zones. Surface mapping and sampling in 2011 has identified two more than 1 kilometre long East-West trending zones of alteration and mineralization on the property. Mineralization is associated with zones of sericite-dolomite alteration in the host quartz monzonite and with silica-flooded breccias which have produced grab samples with up to 118.5g/t gold. One N-S oriented shallow hole drilled in 2003 encountered broad zones of gold mineralization in altered quartz monzonites but missed breccia-style mineralization. In 2011, a 3D induced polarization survey covering 5km2 over the main alteration zones highlighted a series of NW-trending cross structures, which may be the control on the high-grade mineralization, thus explaining why the original drill hole missed the high-grade zone.

At the West Pogo project core is being sawed in half and sampled at roughly one meter intervals, then delivered by truck to ALS-Chemex (Fairbanks, Alaska) for sample preparation, after which sample pulps are shipped to the ALS Minerals facility in North Vancouver, B.C. for assay. Gold is determined by fire assay with AAS finish (ALS protocol Au-AA24), and trace elements by ICP-AES after nitric aqua regia digestion (ALS protocol ME-ICP41). The samples are submitted with in-house and/or certified gold standards inserted into the sample stream.

At the West Pogo project core is being sawed in half and sampled at roughly one meter intervals, then delivered by truck to ALS-Chemex (Fairbanks, Alaska) for sample preparation, after which sample pulps are shipped to the ALS Minerals facility in North Vancouver, B.C. for assay. Gold is determined by fire assay with AAS finish (ALS protocol Au-AA24), and trace elements by ICP-AES after nitric aqua regia digestion (ALS protocol ME-ICP41). The samples are submitted with in-house and/or certified gold standards inserted into the sample stream.

The Fox property is located approximately 75 kilometres northeast of 100 Mile House, British Columbia (B.C.), Canada.
Four prospects called the 708, BN, Ridley Creek (RC) and BK contain high tungsten values in outcrop and the favorable geology spans a distance of approximately 3.0 kilometres. Trenching these prospects returned 1.0 metre of 2.38% W03 (tungsten trioxide), 0.40 metres of 11.10% W03, 7.0 metres of 0.80% W03, and 4.6 metres of 0.85% W03, respectively. In 2011, the first ever drilling in the RC area returned 7.35 metres of 1.22% W03 in F11-07 and 4.7 metres of 1.02% W03 in F11-08. The first preliminary results from 2012 drilling is from the RC area with vertical hole F12-01 containing 17.4 metres of 0.90% W03, including 1.3 metres of 6.08% W03, 0.35% zinc, 0.42 g/t gold, 3.16 g/t silver and 2.1 g/t indium. Splitting the overall zone to above and below a 3.0 metre thick granite sill gives 4.0 metres of 0.41% W03 and 10.4 metres of 1.35% W03, respectively. As the zone is sub-horizontal, the estimated true width is approximately 80-90% of measured width.
