Cardero Resource Reports Final High-Grade Results from Sheini Hills Iron Project

Cardero Resource has obtained the last batch of high-grade results from the phase I program carried out at the Sheini Hills iron project, located in Northeast Ghana. The company completed the phase I drilling during August 2012 and has received the complete results.

The company intersected 50.81% iron over 16.00 m and 48.50% iron over 51.60 m in hole 063 and 47.38% iron over 48.00 m in hole 064. Four cross-sections, namely 1012800N, 1013050N, 101440N and 1014950N, out of seven have weighted average iron that ranges from 41.1% to 43.92%, which reflect the high-grade results obtained from the drill region’s northern part.

According to Cardero's CEO and President, Michael Hunter, the company is happy to complete a successful phase I drilling and exploration campaign at the Sheini iron project. The discovery and acquisition of the project added a high-quality second asset to the company’s portfolio.

The drilling campaign specifically targeted a core zone that is 9 km long with outcropping ironstone-haematite ridges together with marginal surface ferricretes. The company has drilled 67 diamond holes and the results have been received from all the holes. It sent 58 diamond drill holes for assaying and drilled 9 holes for metallurgical testing and geological analysis.

Regional work has discovered further 24 km of prospective ironstone deposit areas that will be drill-tested during phase II program. This work includes aerial geophysical surveys, satellite analysis, mapping and verification.

With respect to NI 43-101, a maiden resource calculation report has been retained by SRK Consulting, which expects to complete and distribute the report in the fourth quarter of 2012.

Das schwarze Gold

Die Autofahrer fluchen, denn weltweit steigen die Benzinpreise. Doch warum? Der Menschheit wird das Erdöl nicht ausgehen, denn neue innovative Technologien und Bohrmethoden werden die Erschliessung von Ölfeldern ermöglichen, was vor 20 Jahren noch undenkbar erschien. Insbesondere Öl in Schiefergestein wird zukünftig stark zum Wachstum beitragen.

Was einem Sorge bereiten muss, sind die Unternehmen, welche das Öl fördern. Waren es in der Vergangenheit Privatunternehmen, sind es heute meist grosse Staatskonzerne. Die klare Nummer 1 ist Saudi Aramaco aus Saudi-Arabien, dahinter folgen Gesellschaften aus Iran, Mexiko und dem Irak.

Die zwei grössten privaten Gesellschafen ExxonMobil aus den USA und BP aus Grossbritannien folgen auf den Plätze 5und 6. Da der Grossteil der Kosten beim Benzin Steuern sind, wird sich hier wenig bewegen. Warum soll der Staat seinen Bürgern was zurückgeben? Auch Deutschland gibt hier ein Armutszeugnis ab. Einzig unser Nachbarland Frankreich geht mit gutem Beispiel voran und verzichtet auf einen Teil seiner Erträge, damit die Benzinpreise sinken können.

Grönland und die Arktis: Noch sind es weiße Flecken

Die Klimaerwärmung bringt das Eis in der Arktis zum Schmelzen. So stark wie in diesem Sommer hat sich das Eis im Norden noch nie zurückgebildet. In Grönland werden inzwischen sogar im Freien Erdbeeren und Gemüse angebaut, vor Jahren ein undenkbares Bild. Doch das Negative hat zumindest für die Rohstoffbranche einen positiven Aspekt. Neue Regionen können als Explorationsgebiete genutzt werden. Das ewige Eis hatte einen wirklichen Rohstoffabbau in Grönland und in der Arktis verhindert. Hier ergibt sich für die Industrie neues Erkundungspotenzial, diese beiden weißen Flecken auf der Landkarte der Rohstoffwelt sind wahrscheinlich bald Historie.

Bisher arbeiten in Grönland nur wenige Menschen in der Bergbaubranche. Dass sich dort jedoch etwas tut, ist an der ansteigenden Zahl der Bergbaulizenzen zu erkennen, die die Behörden vergeben. Die Region ist reich an Bodenschätzen. Von Gold über Edelsteine bis hin zu Kohle, Nickel und Platin steckt viel Wertvolles im Boden. Selbst chinesische Investoren haben schon ihre Fühler ausgestreckt.

Vielleicht noch spannender ist die Situation in der Arktis. Während es bei Grönland klar ist, dass die Insel unter dänischem Schutz steht, ist diese Frage in der Arktis alles andere als beantwortet. Kanada, Russland aber auch die USA erheben territoriale Ansprüche. Das drückt sich teilweise in spektakulären Szenen aus, dass U-Boote eine Nationalflagge in den Meeresboden rammen. Russland macht in den nördlichen Regionen nun Nägel mit Köpfen. Vor allem die Ölvorkommen locken das Putin-Reich. Die Konzerne Rosneft und Gazprom wollen bis 2015 mehr als 12 Milliarden Euro in das Projekt investieren. Dass dies nur der Anfang einer Rohstoff-Rallye im Norden sein dürfte, erscheint schon heute klar.

Balmoral Intersects 8.08 g/t Gold Over 7.95 Metres in Deepest Hole to Date at Martiniere West

- Increases Down Plunge Extent of Martiniere West Zone by 40% - Footwall Structure Widens Significantly

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 24, 2012) - Balmoral Resources Ltd. ("Balmoral" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:BAR)(OTCQX:BALMF) today reported results from 5 drill holes which increase the depth extent of the Main portion of the high-grade Martiniere West Zone by more than 30% and the down-plunge extent of the Zone by 40%. Today's results demonstrate continuity of the West Zone for 400 metres down plunge and to a vertical depth of 328 metres, below which it remains open and untested. Drill hole MDW-12-62, the deepest hole to date on the Martiniere Property, returned an intercept of 8.08 g/t gold over 7.95 metres from the Main portion of the West Zone.

Drilling also indicates a significant broadening to depth of the Footwall 2 (FW2) structure which was intersected at a vertical depth of 392 metres in hole MDW-12-62.This FW2 intercept is 140 metres (55%) deeper than any previous significant gold intercept in the West Zone area. Hole MDW-12-64a, which represents the southwestern-most pierce point to date, intersected anomalous gold mineralization in the FW2 over a width of 49.30 meters (@ 1.01 g/t gold), including a core intercept of 3.65 g/t gold over 7.48 metres (see table below). This suggests the FW2 may not only strengthen at depth but also to the southwest outside areas tested by previous drilling.

The Martiniere Property forms part of the Company's Detour Gold Trend Project which spans over 82 kilometres along the Sunday Lake Deformation Zone in Quebec. Balmoral's holdings adjoin those of Detour Gold who are in the final phases of construction of what will be, according to Detour's commentary, Canada's largest gold mine.

Details
Drilling continues to indicate an overall southwest plunge and steep northwest dip to the West Zone. Gold mineralization associated with the West Zone can be traced along strike for 400 metres and remains open at shallow depths to the southwest into an untested area of the property and to the northeast toward the Central Zone. Drill testing during the upcoming fall 2012 and winter 2012-13 drill programs will continue to target expansion of the West Zone along strike and down plunge and to infill the Zone in areas of broader spaced testing.

Guidance
Analytical results from an additional 33 drill holes completed on the Martiniere Property remain pending at this time. The Company anticipates that next available results will be from a series of holes testing the Bug Lake Fault Zone. These will be followed by results from holes testing the high-grade ME-16 and ME-23 discoveries, a series of holes testing the recent bonanza grade Footwall discovery and additional results from the Bug Lake Zone.

Drilling is now anticipated to resume in late September/early October and will continue into the fall as conditions permit before a brief hiatus during freeze-up.

Drilling continues on the Company's Northshore Property near Schreiber, Ontario with 10 holes completed to date during the current program being conducted on the Property by funding partner GTA Resources and Mining.

Quality Control
Mr. Darin Wagner (P.Geo.), President and CEO of the Company, is the non-independent qualified person for the technical disclosure contained in this news release. Mr. Wagner has supervised the work programs on the Martiniere Property, visited the property on multiple occasions, examined the drill core from the holes summarized in this release and reviewed the available analytical and quality control results.

Balmoral has implemented a quality control program for all of its drill programs, to ensure best practice in the sampling and analysis of the drill core, which includes the insertion of blind blanks, duplicates and certified standards into sample stream. NQ sized drill core is saw cut with half of the drill core sampled at intervals based on geological criteria including lithology, visual mineralization and alteration. The remaining half of the core is stored on-site at the Company's Martiniere field camp in Central Quebec. Drill core samples are transported in sealed bags to ALS Minerals Val d'Or, Quebec analytical facilities. Gold analyses are obtained via industry standard fire assay with atomic absorption finish using 30 g aliquots. For samples returning greater than 5.00 g/t gold follow-up fire assay analysis with a gravimetric finish is completed. The Company has also requested that any samples returning greater than 10.00 g/t gold undergo screen metallic fire assay. Following receipt of assays visual analysis of mineralized intercepts is conducted and additional analysis may be requested to ensure the accurate representation of mineralized zones. ALS Minerals is ISO 9001:2008 certified and the Val d'Or facilities are ISO 17025 certified for gold analysis.

Advanced Explorations Inc. Announces Filing of Feasibility Report for Roche Bay Iron Project

Advanced Explorations Inc. (the "Company" or "AEI") (TSX VENTURE:AXI)(FRANKFURT:AE6) today announced the SEDAR filing of its Roche Bay Iron Project feasibility study. On August 10th, 2012, AEI announced the positive outcome of a feasibility study conducted for the C Zone of its Ocean-based Roche Bay Iron Project located on the east coast of the Melville Peninsula in Nunavut, Canada that targeted a start-up production rate of 5.5 million tonnes per year and start-up production of a 66% iron concentrate.

The company believes the conservative nature of the report provides a robust base case upon which to create further value going forward. It should also be noted that the FS does not include salvage or residual value for the assets following the 15 year mine life. This will be further assessed through AEIs evolving programs and studies.

Lynas: Das Tauziehen geht weiter

Medienberichten zufolge muss Lynas aufgrund einer Gerichtsentscheidung bei ihrer Verarbeitungsanlage für Seltene Erden in Malaysia vorerst auf die Bremse treten. Ein Gericht des asiatischen Landes hat die vorläufige Lizenz, die die Australier gerade erst erhalten haben, für eine Woche ausgesetzt. Die Berichte berufen sich auf Aussagen von Aktivisten, die sich seit längerem gegen die Anlage zur Wehr setzen. Man fürchtet sich vor allem vor radioaktiven Verschmutzungen, die von der Anlage ausgehen.

Damit dürfte die Unsicherheit um die Zukunft dieser Anlage zumindest nicht kleiner werden. Am 4. Oktober ist eine Anhörung vor Gericht geplant, bei der es dann um eine permanente Betriebserlaubnis für die Verarbeitungsanlage von Lynas gehen soll.

Der Aktie des australischen Unternehmens hat dies einen Schlag versetzt. Solange unklar ist, wie es mit dem malaysischen Standort des Konzerns weiter geht, dürfte auch die Volatilität der Aktie hoch bleiben – zumindest bis zum 4. Oktober, wenn Neuigkeiten von der Anhörung durch die Presse gehen. Vor diesem Hintergrund treten auch andere Neuigkeiten der Australier in den Hintergrund, wie zum Beispiel die jüngste Anhebung der Reserveschätzungen für das Projekt Mount Weld. Gegenüber 2005 hat man die Reserve an Seltenen Erden um 260 Prozent anheben können.

Bundesregierung legt Turbo-Aktienhandel an die Leine

Berlin - Der sekundenschnelle Aktienhandel soll in Deutschland strenger reguliert werden, um das Risiko von unkontrollierten Kurssprüngen zu begrenzen. Dieses Ziel verfolgt ein Gesetzentwurf, den das Bundeskabinett an diesem Mittwoch beschließen will.

Kanadas Provinz British Columbia boomt

Die westlichste Provinz Kanadas zeigte in den letzten Jahren einen sehr deutlichen Aufwärtstrend im Bergbau. Alleine in den ersten 7 Monaten des Jahres 2012 wurden vom Bergbauministerium über 11.000 Minenparzellen ( Claims ) frei gegeben. In die Erforschung nach Bodenschätzen wurden 2011 rd. $ 463 Mio. investiert, und für das laufende Jahr rechnet man mit zumindest einem ebenso hohen Wert. Noch höher fällt die Gegenüberstellung der Investitionen in Minen- und Produktionskonstruktionen aus. Wurden in den Minenaufbau 2010 noch rd. $ 1,25 Mrd. investiert, so betrug 2011 die Investitionshöhe bereits $ 2,94 Mrd. Eine gewaltige Steigerung um rd. 135%.
